Manly Dam update for 26 Nov
I did a spin around at lunchtime. The track remains clean and dry. Therefore still "Green/Open".
It seems the pile of crushed sandstone above the 19th Hole has grown. I do wonder where this crushed sandstone can be going that doesn't (a) dumb down the track and (b) get washed away next time it rains - but I am just a worrier so I won't mention it
No wildlife to report at lunchtime - just a couple of school kids walking their bikes (they said they were tired!).
The track itself now has a quite distinct line which it seems every rider and their dog must using. In several places this isn't the best line. Does no one think about these things? Are most Manly Dam users sheep?

EI (Electric Intelligence) Shock by RockShox
Lapierre will shortly have their 2013 range in the shops over Dec / Jan and some models will include the new EI (Electric Intelligence) Shock developed with RockShox

Suggestions - is it worth selling an infrequently used bike?
I've recently acquired a Trek Rumblefish and absolutely love the handling and the speed of the 29er is awesome. However, this now leaves me with a 29er dually and my 26 dually.
The 26 is a Scott Genius RC10, top end carbon, xtr/x0 components, Ritchey Carbon cockpit, DT Swiss wheels with 240 hubs, 10kg all up - you get the picture. Trouble is, I'm not using it very much and everytime I take it out I Fi d myself thinking 'could have done this quicker on the 9er!'. I've even decided to do my next 100k'er on the rumblefish over the much lighter Scott due to the speed of the bigger wheels.

2012 Awaba 8hr (Fat Tyre)
Another awesome day of end of year fun, chatting sh!t and sledging mates at every opportunity.
Another hot race this year 34-35degs?, track was tinder dry and dusty.
Have not been up to Awaba since last years event so it was good to see the place. This was only my second event this year and only the third time on the MTB so happy with the lap times considering.

STM Red Loop
After spending Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday sick in bed with the flu I was pretty happy with my lap times from the weekend.

Awaba Hot Lap
Lap 2 of the Awaba 8hr. Time from official race timing.
At 30 degrees plus this what a hot lap indeed !

BMORC at Awaba 8hr
3 of us from BMORC formed a team for this years final Chocolate Foot round at Awaba. Awaba seems to draw out all the big guns and I was keen to seem them go around and ride the fun track.
We had a mixed bag in terms of experience. Stephen is the seasoned racer, I'm the apprentice racking up a few by now and Paul was the newcomer with his first mtb race only the week before.
Stephen started us off and put in a solid 38min first extended lap.
I was next up and raced away to a 35:34, passing Brian from Jet opens (he probably didn't even recognise me).

Awaba 8hr fast lap.
Lap 2 of the Awaba 8hr in team BMORC. Not a bad effort. Time from official race timing.

Hot day 2012 8hr STM
This is the time according to the timing tent all though the Garmin has me quicker. Not sure which to pick so will go with this slower one while I figure it out.
