Power Output
Warning: Nerd content (and probably inaccurate at that) below!
Just now I was pondering efforts at the Quarry Climb and was curious as to what amount of power is being put out on that climb. Yes, yes, have some time this morning...
Anyhow, so I start with basic fizziks:
1. Power = work done / time taken
2. Work done = force on object x distance object is moved
3. Forget anything fancy (as I don't know)... force on object = mass x gravity if you lift it in a straight line.
More punishment
After being out there for a couple of hours I got back to my car and decided to time myself on the quarry climb. So back I went and gave it a go. One question I have is what gear combination do people use for this?
First climb of the day
First climb of the day doing the 4 gates http://nobmob.com/node/4559 ride. I think it would be better to do St Ives, Davidson, Quarry then Heath back to the car.
Is it worth it?
Lap 2 here:

Not the best way to start (was only 4Km into what turned out to be 31Km ride), and was in a bit of pain the next 10-15 mins. Sub 5min is the goal of course... why?!
Sidewall Repair #2
Repair #2 to a ruptured sidewall (below) after it started to bulge through tape applied to attempt #1. Remains of old tube tube wrapped around deflated tire and secured, then tire pumped to operating pressure. Seemed to work a treat too!
