Ourimbah XC Easter Monday

When:
Monday, 24 March, 2008 - 08:30

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Ourimbah State Forest

Al, who a few of us met at the Menai ride, wants some nob mobbers along on a ride he's doing with a few of his mates. Will be a medium pace around the XC course, or faster for those that want. Maybe even a DH hill run if there's a few takers (but leave the DH bike at home- primarily XC).

Useful links...

Just thought I'd share a couple of useful links with you, especially with those who are training for Dirtworks.

If you are looking for a good source of energy during racing, try High5 Nutrition - Energy Source 4:1. It's great stuff for rides of 2+ hours. You can get it at Fastgear, which is located on Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach or online.

www.fastgear.com.au

The other great link I've come across is www.mapmyrun.com I use this site to map out my training runs, but why not use it to calculate the distance of your training rides.

See you all soon!

Work to Do!

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

So today was a training exercise for the Dirtworks 100Km race. Although it was a blast think it showed there's a lot of work to do. And while you can clock up 50Km plus rather easily around Terrey Hills/Cascades/etc. there's nothing much like a trip to GNR/Womerah to remind us what real hills are!

We rode part of the course from around the 70Km stage forward first, then looped about a bit to ride in reverse from 65Km-ish out and back-ish.

Smiliing Brian

He might be smiling now, but it would be bit a more nervous grin come bottom of this hill. In a close call witnessed by yours truly, Brian here did well not to become as one with the scenery!

Down they go!

Top of crazy descent, Jacks Track.
