End of Gulp South Fork

There's a fork of to the South of Gulp Road that leads about 1200m through native growth to this small clearing. No view, but nice all the same. Small warning though, the climb back out of here is quiet a challenge.

Spratts/Gulp Junction

Well - there are two (or is that three?) junctions between Spratts and Gulp actually. This is the Eastern one.

Spratts Detour Climb

The drop from the other direction was longer and not as steep - it's probably better to ride this slight detour off Spratts Road South to North.

Old Wingello Pines

These guys look like they've been here for a while.

Apparant Dead End

An apparant dead end on a trail off to the East of Spratts Road. I say apparant as the topo map shows it heading down to the left of this clearing.

Really a Firetrail

There's a leg off to the East of Spratts Road that appears to end just above here. Although you can kindof see a trail heading down there into the trees I thought it was just a water course from the previous week's rain - wrong again, the topo map shows this going another 500m or so down some steep terrain.

Wingello Base Camp

On Caoura Road about 1600m into the forest. Apparantly there's a freshwater supply here and you can camp without a permit. There's also a couple of toilets.

Welcome to Wingello

Main entry where Forest Road (from Wingello village) becomes Caoura Road.

Don't park up here, drive another 1600m or so to the Base Camp.

Great Rides?

This site was featured in SMH yesterday:

Mostly down South, and road based by the looks, but looks like it might be a nice easy ride if you have a week or so to kill Eye-wink
