Camden River update for 03 May

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Area:
Camden River
Status:
Green/Open

Rode it late afternoon on 29/4/2013. All is in very good condition although take care on the descent to the first creek crossing as the soil is very loose and will probably be super slippery after a small amount of rain.
A number of sections of the track have a lot of leaf litter on them - in the dappled light it can be hard to distinquish the track when you are moving quickly.
Almost ran over a 1.5m black snake sunning itself in the middle of the track about 2/3 the way along - I almost went over the bars coming to a stop (which meant I would have fell on it !) - I pulled up about a half a metre short and luckily it took off in the other direction. Thankfully it was a black snake not a brown - but mind you I rode through that area fairly quickly on the return trip.

Place to go for a four day mtb trip?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hi all.

We are planning to go for a three or four day mtb-trip in a couple of weeks.

As we are exchange students from norway, currently living in Sydney, we do not know very much about places to go for mountain bike riding here.

We are therefor surching for tips on places to go and trail to ride here! Any tip is very much welcome!

We are planning to brink a small pack with tent, so a long circuit trail/route is fine.

I.ex is the snowy mountains a good place to start?
