Parking by Sturt Highway
There's a dirt parking area just off the Sturt Highway, just past Wagga City Golf Course. Turn North off the highway onto McNickle Rd, then first left. Road turns to dirt just past the golf course (don't use that) and parking is 100m or so further.
Pomingalarna Park
At a Glance
Home of the Wagga 6hr (12.5km loop). A nice trail network with some bridges and berms and more trails planned. There are loops for all abilities, fire roads and some great bushland.
Frayed shifter outers
So my bike is not even 2 months old yet and whilst cleaning it today i noticed that the shifter outer housing is fraying.
It looks like the plastic ferrule has broken and the outer is slowly peeling back with about a third to half of the strands hanging out.
Is this something i should just call wear and tear and fix it myself or is this something i should take back to the LBS for under warranty?
The bike has never been in an accident so i am surprised to see something failing so quickly :/
Camden River update for 20 Oct
Rode 6.30am Sunday 20/10
In great condition but watch your head on a few low trees, particularly the solid one angled over a sharp, fast dip (beyond the halfway point). The track rises just where the tree is at it's lowest. Thought I got low enough but it hit my helmet and then my pack (and then I did it again on the return!!)
One sizable fallen tree on the turnaround loop but you can work your way around it.

Mount Annan Botanic Garden update for 19 Oct
Took advantage of the later closing time over summer weekends for a late afternoon ride. Surprised when I left from the car park at 5.30pm there was not one other car in the car park - seemed to have the whole track to myself when I did a full lap then a lap of the Competent track in about an hour. If you are looking for quiet time to ride this track it looks like this is the time - just remember the track closes at 7pm. Whilst there were no other riders I dodged one snake (little brown), spotted two small roos and startled about 20 rabbits.
Not sure if track will be open Sunday given the fire danger - best to check the Gardens Facebook page.

WSMTB Club XC Championships
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
There's a car park (click for foggy picture) on Springwood Road - just down the way from Hawkesbury Heights if you're looking for a suburb name.
POSTPONED - due to uncertainty in local fire situation. We will run it in early Dec - date to be advised when confirmed with NPWS.

The WSMTB Club XC Championship race will be held at Yellomundee Regional Park on Sunday 27 Oct. See www.wsmtb.com XC page for details. U10s at 8.30am, U13s at 9am, and U15s and Seniors at 9.30am. Rego from 8am to 8.50am sharp.
Note that while all riders are welcome to race and podium, only WSMTB members can be the Club Champion.

WSMTB are holding a Track Maintenance morning at Yellomundee Regional Park on Saturday 12 Oct, 8.30am to around midday. All welcome!
There will be some normal maintenance activities (edges etc), plus further repairs to the track in preparation for the summer races.
Bring normal tools (cutters, trimmers, shovels, ect), plus wheelbarrows and a ute or two. Wear boots, long trousers, gloves, hat.
Keep an eye on the WSMTB FB page for any last minute updates (fire warnings etc).
Mount Annan Botanic Garden update for 04 Oct
More a comment than a status update. Noticed the following comment on the Gardens website "The Australian Botanic Garden will close at 8 pm on weekends and public holidays in a trial from Saturday 21 September 2013 to Monday 27 January 2014". I presume that also includes the MTB track - opening time has not changed but at least it gives more time to ride the track and not have to be gone before 5pm.
