Knapsack Reserve update for 03 Jan
Just did a couple of laps and all is good.
Note that the small timber bridge between Moore St and Barnet St is currently being replaced and might be out of action in the next few weeks while BMCC staff build it.
The new AM section was all clear and it looks like it's getting plenty of use.

Bike setup.
A mate at work just bought a new roadie and had the setup done at the shop. They used laser levels etc etc to make sure the saddle position, stem length and all the other malarky were "right". Now this was a bit more than the "knee bent at bottom of pedal stroke" thing but less than a full on bike fit costing a few hungy.

Knapsack Reserve update for 31 Dec
Someone had spread the sticks across the downhill track, now removed.

Suspension bearing failure
Anyone seen a full complement bearing do this before?
They were replaced back in May 2012 and have been running fine until I noticed that the seal was protruding. Was it just bad luck that the assembly slots were lined up and the ball worked its way out or are full complement bearings the wrong choice as some people advise?
All the other bearings feel fine, and no misalignment I can see/feel etc.
The last image was taken nack on the 3rd of December prior to rinding the Great North Road. You can see the seal is almost off.

Rydal
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
The main rd in has been dusty as all get up so in an effort to keep on the good side of the locals it might be best to come in via the showground.
From the highway come into Rydal, cross the train tracks and take a left before the Pub (Showground signposted.)
Go around the top side of the show ground and follow the road around to the left. This will take you around towards the top side of the cemetery. from there a couple of cross rd will bring you back tot he bicentennial trail and thus the car park
We need to do some circle work at Rydal ... can somebody post up where I should head please

Time for some gears I think, but how many?
Well building and riding my SS over the last year was fun but now I'm wanting some gears back on the bike and thinking a rear cassette is the way to go. The old bike once ran a 9 speed cassette. While I do still have the old cassette I want to put some new parts on the bike and change the gear ratio around. Would my old hub be compatible with a 10 speed cassette? or should I stick with a 9 speed?
