Convict 100 2016 - It was as a late decision - but in the end a good one
As much as I enjoy the Convict I was in 2 minds whether to enter this year. Since completing the Pioneer, and then wrongly deciding to race the Willo a couple of weeks later, I've not really been motivated to train or race. 9 days in UK/France over Easter, and 60 hours of travel in a short time frame, was hard on my body and I returned from that trip feeling very tired and jetlagged.
Convict 100 2014
St Albans, NSW
The Convict 100 is regarded as one of Australia's most challenging mountain bike endurance races, consistently inspiring all entrants to push their personal boundaries.
Now in its tenth year, the course follows the historic Convict Trail through the Dharug and Yengo National Parks. The mix of fast fire trail, technical rock gardens, rocky descents and spectacular ridgeline views is unmatched.by any other MTB event. The Convict 100 starts and finishes in the historic township of St. Albans and competitors can choose between the full "Century of Dirt" or the Convict half.
Mt York
Imperial park Mt Victoria
OK this is a CTMBC ride but open to everyone (you'll need to sign the disclaimer but there are no entry fees). It is part of the Celebrations of the 175 anniversary of the opening of Victoria Pass.
There will be plenty of things to do and see besides the ride, including Historical re-enactments at both Mt Victoria and Heartly Historic village so use it as an excuse to bring to family/better half up to the mountains for a bit of culture (the duck off for a ride while they are not looking).
