Sticky Front Wheel
Found a good picture of me from the Marathon-Photos site. At about 5kms from the finish, I overtook someone and collected a large stick in the front wheel. Lots of crunching noises and bits of stick flying through the air, and somehow, I smashed it to pieces and kept on going. Got to the finish and found a large section of stick still threaded though the spokes - you can see it in the photo. And when I think of what could have happened...

Oaks + Andos - Up... up... up training ride
Hey guys, since Angry Doctor will be an elevation madness event, I'm thinking in putting some uphill Kays and it seems that Oaks + Andos is a good take (longish and good elevation). What about 14th of June??? Any takers???
Cheers,
Leo.
Oaks
Has anyone been to Oaks recently? I’m thinking of doing Andersons and Oaks or Oaks up & down this Sunday (training pace) and given the recent posts about it I wonder if it is rideable.
Anyone care to join (Probably the 8:20 train from Glenbrook)?
Cheers,
Leo.
Andersons and Oaks situation???
Does anyone have any info on how good or bad Andersons and Oaks are after all this rain? I’m thinking of doing that this Saturday morning for a "training" ride.
Cheers,
Leo.
The Oaks Maintenence Day?
So... we met a ranger just as we were finishing The Oaks yesterday. Right after the technical section of the sniggle that leads back to the road.
We had a small chat and the ranger was saying how they know that part of the trail is getting quiet badly eroded and needs some work. Apparently there's a new staff member coming along in the next couple of weeks who will be looking after this. I told the dude about and have spoken to Terracare.
Late Post: Oaks up and down and maybe some more.
Going for a training ride and here is the plan:
1- Leave Glenbrook station, bypass the single track on the uphill and go all the way to Woodford.
2- Ride down the Oaks to the beginning of the single track and if the legs allow, go up again till the helipad and then go back all the way to Glenbrook.
I'm not sure if this second leg will happen, but I'm willing to try anyway.
I'm going to Glenbrook by train, so I may get a little late depending on Cityrail's mood.
The Oaks - Up and Down Training ride
I’m planning on riding The Oaks from Glenbrook Station to Woodford and back for some pain endurance training for The Fling. I’ll try to avoid stopping as much as possible, but knowing my current fitness level this does not mean much. Meeting point is the parking lot in front of Glenbrook station.
