Going a bit more hardcore
Hi all.
I'm enjoying learning to ride the new trails in the hills but can't help thinking that as I'm getting more confident & aggressive it's taking my XC bike beyond its intended purpose. I don't want to wreck it so have been looking at building something a bit more hardcore.
I also want it to be light enough to still ride back up.

Nuke proof knee pads
Hey guys,
I've been gearing up to compliment my new Mtb and I brought some nuke proof knee pads off crc. How much can I expect them to stretch? They are quite snug fitting and I'm wondering if I got a size to small.... I was torn between medium or large and went medium in the thought they will stretch out (hopefully)....
Anyone here used them before?
Cheers

SAM HILL 2010 Demo 8
2010 world comp winning Demo 8, This was the demo 8 Sam Hill took the flag on, fluro green, auto graphed by Sam, The same tyres that he put on, riden a handful of times since I've owned it, full XO sram gear, DT swiss wheels and hubs, BOXXER world cup forks, an absolute machine, but unfortunately I have as many ups as I do downs so I'm looking to fund a new bike.
This is a real trophy bike.

Edge 500 brick.
I bricked my brand new Garmin Edge 500 just as I was about to take it on it's first ride. The screen came up with "Software Missing" ! Fuelled up on coffee and carboshotz I spent an angry half an hour on the computer and eventually found a bootstrap program that allowed me to get things going again. I updated to the latest version of firmware and it seems to have performed ok.

SONlight bike light
About a month or so I saw someone post on here about a new local (Perth) company that was selling a bike light. I decided to have a look into them and from what I saw, sold my Ayups and bought a twin set of the SONlight SL2000 Mk2. I have also decided to do a rambling review which is a little lengthy, but gives my personal observations about the lights. I haven't done a lot of Mountain bike riding with them yet, just one trip out, but I have found these awesome for both road and MTB.
Feel free, or not, to read my review.
Review of SON Light SL2000 MkII

Dollars per kilometre.
What do people consider as reasonable value for bike usage?
For example, if you paid $3000 for a bike and covered 5000 km on it would you say that you'd got your moneys worth from of it?
How many k's would you expect to get from your bike and how much did you pay for it?

What MTB tyre for kids 24" bike?
Hi all
Just got my son this bad boy. Tyres are shot. I was going to get the Ignitor/Crossmark combination but Maxxis don't do them in 24". It will be mainly used for XC and light DH (eg Mt Gunjin).
Recommendations?

SON light bike lights
Finally get to pick up my new bike lights this week. I'll give them a couple of rides to/from work and a hit out at Jarrahdale and then post a review about them. They are from a local company called SON lights if anyone who hasn't seen their Facebook page is interested, and their website will be up later this week for ordering.
