Changing rear shock

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi there,
Pretty new to this, I have a cannondale prophet and my rear shock is bottomed out just sitting on it
I am a big guy, 6"3 and 117kg. When I get out of the saddle to put the power down it just bounces around.
I have taken it to my local bike shop to gas but he reckons it's gassed out.
I can't find a replacement HD or coil over replacement.
Any ideas other than hard tail?

Cheers
Robbie

Derailleur hanger

Folks are the rear hangers on all Giant Anthems the same? I have a damaged frame with hanger still connected and my wife has a anthem W 29 X4 both 2012 models with shimano derailleur's XT vs Deore. Plan is to take the derailleur off the damaged frame so my wife has a spare for long rides.

Hi,

I'm looking at getting a frame skin for my Specialized Epic Carbon from Frameskin (www.frameskin.com). Before I shell out the $100 I'd like to know if anyone has tried them (or another brand), and are they worth the money, and do they provde protection rock scraprs, falls etc?

thks
