Do you have a video of the Heath / Bare Creek Single Track?

Hi Guys

Does anyone have POV video of the Heath / Bare Creek Single Track?

How would you compare it to other single track descents in the area?

Cheers

Aaron

Any takers for Saturday AM rides (Cascades, along single track on Mona Vale, through Garigal, back into cascades = ~28Kms)

Any MTB riding groups doing ~25-30Km @ 2Hr-2.5hr XC with some sections of technical riding around the Davidson/Belrose/Oxford Falls areas ?
I'm keen to join a keen group for Saturday morning rides ?

Any takers ?

Cascades?

Can anybody tell me if the Cascades are ok to ride given the amount of rain over the weekend? Do the trails have the same erosion problems as Manly Dam? I want to ride this week and with Manly Dam being my local ride I am obviously avoiding that area until it dries out. I didn't want to ride the Cascades area (which I have never ridden before) and get in trouble for doing so.

Can anyone advise?

Cheers

Lost Specialized Bike Computer at Cascades

Folks

I lost my specialized bike computer on the Cascades track on Sunday morning. I believe it came off on the downhill from Douglas Street exit or possibly on Lower Cambourne. I noticed it was missing at the creek crossing but I definatelty had it when starting out at Douglas street.

if anyone found/finds it, you'll make a MTB'er very happy. Please PM me

thanks

Incorrect NPWS Signs

Spotted yesterday at Cascades (top of Quarry track climb), even though RFS site showed no ban and a check of the NPWS site showed no closures.

As with the Manly Dam rangers, NPWS can only garner respect for their signs and closures if they are properly implemented. Less than impressed with their processes right now.

Firday Arvo Cascades and something else

When:
Friday, 30 October, 2009 - 16:00
Ride Database Entry:
Cascades
Meeting Point:

End of Wyatt Ave, Belrose - this is on the East side of Garigal National Park.

-33.724071, 151.210407 (Wyatt Ave, Belrose)

This is shot 2 from last week as discussed with Rob in that opportunity.
My idea is to go down the cascades down hill single track (if i find it), climb out and see what else we can do.

I don't want to go down that trail alone, it is a bit technical and i don't want to lie unconsious until my wife starts worrying if something unplanned happens Sad, so if nobody confirms and someone has a suggestion to go somewhere else (like Lane Cove) post it and I can change the plans. If nobody comes i may go to Menai that i know where i get into Smiling

As discussed... night ride somewhere a little different.

I'm thinking a loop of the sniggle, down Heath, up Quarry, over to St Ives Oval, round the back of the Gun Club then back down Quarry to complete the 4 gates circuit. Maybe duplicate the climb up to Acron or do some other kind of repeats depending on timing and how we all feel.

What is legal to ride at the Cascades. I note the Quarry Track has a "No Vehicles" sign at the top only, which means no bikes (those 2 guys were booked recently for just this-remember). Does this mean it is illegal to ride down. Is up OK as there is no sign at the bottom?. A bit further along at the track that ends up in Linigen Place there is again a "no vehicles" sign, this time in the direction to stop people who have ridden up the Quarry Track (they're stuffed aren't they as they can ride down again cos of the previous sign)
