WWS 2007: Yellomundee
There's a car park (click for foggy picture) on Springwood Road - just down the way from Hawkesbury Heights if you're looking for a suburb name.
This ride entry created after the event just to clean up the image gallery.
Third Rider Required for WWS Yara this Sunday!
Greetings all!
Don & I will be at the Yarramundee WWS on Sunday. Looking for a third rider to join us in a trio.
Anyone game?
WWS #1 Lithgow
From Lithgow head on the Western Highway toward Bathurst. After 10-11Km you will head uphill and see thick pine forest to the right. It's dual carriageway here, and there's a right turn across the other lane into Forest Ridge Drive (signposted and a sealed road). About 50m on the left there's a turning where you can park in the shade. There's also an old concrete section of the highway just past there with masses of parking.
Hopefully entries will be up ASAP
Stromlo roundup
Great weekend, challenging course, as always great to have friendly banter, and great results by everyone.
I had a good race, pacing myself well to my objectives, getting to the end in ‘good’ shape and avoiding cramps.
Kept my heart rate below 80% most of the time, averaged 75% (143) over the 8 hours, didn’t cramp and had enough fuel in the legs for another lap. But.... the short travel bikes really meant hard work on the downhill track descent, and the rest of the time it was either pretty technical or open and gravelly, meaning pretty loose. As Steve01 commented, good practice for drifting & sliding around!
Chilly & Steaming at Yellomundee
It was a very nice day at Yellowmundee this weekend for their round of the Working Week Series. Good course, dry weather (just) and plenty of top NoBMoB company and banter made for a most enjoyable race day.
Mind you, the early start (6am) after late night (2am) wasn't easy, nor was the freezing start (yes, the car thermometer saw 1 degree on the way in).
Sam & I had paired up in the duo of 'Two worn out Nobs', the start being decided on the flip of a coin which saw me shivering by the river just gone 8am.
WWS 2008 - Round 4 @ Killy
HMBA Killingworth Track (click for directions). The map/directions link below is to the turnoff on Killingworth Road just 500m or so away.
This race is now confirmed to be at Killy, not Awaba.
Never mind, I hear the track is a blast and know we have a few teams out there now.
It's your usual 8 hour format and not too far to drive so come on up!
See http://brightorangeevents.com/ and follow the BMC WWS 08 links.
Awaba WWS?
Hey, anyone want to do the Awaba WWS race in June? June 22 to be precise.
The Awaba course is new and shiny so wouldn't mind a look. Solo or pairs == taking it easy, but a threesome is much more fun, anyone game?
Dear lord, wait 'til Stuart reads that! Please, no smutty remarks unless you want to come to the event!
Update: Now in the calendar: http://nobmob.com/node/5140
8hrs of Dh + WWS 1
Ok the 8hr festival weekend
Saturday will see the very first 8hrs of DH. 3 short, gentle DH tracks, Teams of three one rider on each track start together.
Each rider will be given the opportunity of at least 2 timed runs on each track. Entries are capped so there should be time at the end to try and improve a bad run.
The best 2 runs of each rider on each track will be added into the teams total, lowest total time wins.
