Parking and official trail head is now designated a further 350m or so up the road where a there is a larger area. There's a CCOMTB sign here by the trail entrance (on the left as you drive up). Park up nose to curb or as directed.
Social and fun is the theme, however this is not for beginners. I hope to do 3 laps, depending on the timing because i need to back in Sydney by lunch time.
For anyone who has not ridden there, its a great loop through the state forrest that is usually around 12kms or so depending on the condition. Majority is single track, it has some hills of course but not too nasty and some excellent decents. Its not very techical and there are some chicken runs around the harder stuff.
We can stop at the cars after each lap to get some food or drink for the next lap.

Due to all the wet whether and other commitments if have been off my bike for about a month or so and want to ease back into it with one of my favorate trails. This is not for beginners even though its mostly ridable, there are some long down hill sections and i only really want to be waiting at the top of hill (or people waiting for me at the top of hills).
Plan on doing 2 laps and time will tell if i can get a 3rd in.

This 25/50/100km mountain bike race will be held in the Back Yamma State Forest near Parkes and Forbes in the Central West of NSW (map). Back Yamma is full of great fun single track and not too many big hills, making for a fast and fun ride.

Australia's best bacon and egg roll
After a Manly Dam lap today, I was on my way home to Cremorne when the hunger pangs set in and I realised that my stomach must be immediately satisfied. I am normally partial to a bacon and egg roll after a ride, as this contains the perfect mix of muscle building protein and a greasy, salty taste that can't be beat. Plus a V is good too.

Sparrow Hill Training Ride
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Coming from Sydney, drive into Queenbeyan, turn left at the roundabout where Red Rooster is and stay on this road for about 11km. Park on the side of the road where the gate is. For better directions try this link CORC: Events: Race Venues.
The Defence MTBers in Canberra have a regular Tue nite ride that swaps between Stromlo, Jerra, Majura, Urban, Bruce and O'Conner Ridge, Kowen and Sparrow Hill. This is a last hit out before the Mont and anyone from Canberra, Sysdney and NOMOB is welcome to join us.

Appin session
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Corner Burke & Market St, Appin. There's a small parking area here at the trail head.
I'm just out to have a bit of fun. I've got fitness, but I'm more likely to hit a tree then maintain the trail's centreline. I've never ridden Appin before so if your up for a fun ride with more then a few laughs give me a ring 0410 530 544 and we can go from there.
1600 is not definitive. It may be later. Please call to confirm
