best single track in sydney
Went for an early ride this morning out at south camden . I had forgoten how good this place is, The track winds its way through thick bushland just above the Nepean river twisting and turning ,droping into gullys with pinch climbs to keep to keep you working ,the 2 deepest gullys have wooden bridges in the bottom but very steep entry and exit ,I cant ride out of the first gully on the way in but it is rideable on the return trip.
awaba super happy fun zone
Great day Indeed, all ran smoothly for our team a few minor transition hicups and an off for me on my second lap but still managed 36.55 being my slowest lap and my fastest a 36.25,pretty pleased all my laps were within 30 secs of each other.
Thanks to Brian and Tien for being great team mates and thanks to Brians folks for the hospitality.overall a terrific day with some great riding on
what I consider the best XC track in NSW, can't wait for more.
Well done to all the mobers who competed and especially the junior winners awesome effort.
shack attack
we were heading down on sat morning, while loading the car my bike was sitting in the back yard sporting a new set of Ritchey tyres ,when i went to get my bike I noticed a sm all pile of black stuff sitting just behind the rear wheel I picked some of it up to look at and realised it was chunks of rubber ,hmmm very strange! a close inspection of my tyre revealed three knobs of tread missing ,well it turns out my daughters pet rabbit (who roams the yard)has taken a liking to mtb tyres!no harm done my tyres performed brilliantly.

RealBike Insurance mtb cruise
the day started with what appeared to be set in rain but by 10 am the clouds opened and the sun shined through and made for perfect riding conditions. The 50 k race started I was in the back half of the field taking it easy getting warmed up, about half way up the first climb I found I was getting held up so I figured it was time to push on a bit I got with some blokes who were setting a comfortable pace,I felt pretty good at the end of lap 1.
menai stuff up
went to menai for aride on saturday, the plan was to do about 30 km non stop to see how I would feel in preperation for real ins mtb cruise next week,at about 15 km I was having a ball felt good 30 k would be easy!than disaster struck, derailer hanger snaped it did a lap of my back wheel took out a couple of spokes I quickly stopped to check out the damage hmmm not good but I allways carry a spare hanger so i quickly got to work only to discover that the new one was slightly different and did not fit what a drag!(may have been for 08 bike) well I figured that was the end of my ride so then I t
WSMTB 4Hr
Rode a 4Hr race at Yellowmundee on the weekend. I rode with my neice Fiona and nephew Aaron as a mixed threes team, 'the three stooges!'. It was an excellent day, perfect weather, well run event and great fun. Aaron was our first rider, but got caught in the traffic jam when it hit the single trail but put in a good lap time anway. I rode the next lap, just a short excursion over the handlebars on oneof the rocky downhills but no damage to me or the bike and still managed a good time. Fiona rode next, a little mechanical with her chain...amazingly she fixed it all by herself!
