Battery For Lights

Hey All,
I have built myself a set of LED lights for night riding. (2 x Cree XR-E 3W LEDs)
I need to get a decent battery that won't weight me down, but with enough juice to last at least 1.5hrs.
What sort of batteries are you using? and what sort of battery chargers?
Just looking for recommendations.
Thanks

I bought some RC NiMH batteries for the first set of LEDs I had, and they work well. Got them from eBay.

Since then though, my lights have grown and so have their battery requirements. In case you haven't got the gist of this, I have two, little used 9.6v 3300mAh NiMH packs and charger looking for a new home. As discussed these cost $109 new, but it you want 'em open to (much lower) offers.

FWIW, this pair of batteries powered 4 emitters at 700mA for almost 5 hours so they should fit your needs just fine. Or rather, completely exceed them! Laughing out loud

i am using a crappy LED controller bought from Jaycar, i think it required minimum 12V input
see http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=AA05...
I have the AA0596 (dimmable) version.
Not sure if the 9.6V ones that Rob has suggested above will work??

Rob - are your 2 battery packs run in series or parallel?

If you need more than 9.6v run them in series... but that will drive 2 LEDs for like, 10 hours plus Laughing out loud

I no a guy who imports all this stuff, i no for a fact he can get hid/xenon lights specially designed for bicycles witch are amazingly good and i am pretty sure he can bicycle specific leds. If you want me to i can double check with the guy just let me no. I think they would also be around the same price if not cheaper then how much you guys are paying.
