From Bike North:....looking for volunteers to count cyclist for Super Tuesday
Dear everyone
As you may be aware 'Super Tuesday' was started in Victoria to try to obtain hard data on the number of people cycling past selected locations on a single day of the year. In 2009, it was attempted in Sydney and the City of Sydney was the key participator.
This year, North Sydney Council and Bike North are joining together to participate and registration for volunteers for Super Tuesday ( 2 March 2010) opens tomorrow. Volunteers simply count the number of cyclists going past their location between 7am and 9am that day. There will be 22 counting sites in North Sydney and 24 in Willoughby alone. Lots of volunteers are needed to make this a success. You can select your own site, but you may need to be early and fast to get the one you want. Go to the link: http://www.bv.com.au/bike-futures/91111/ for more information and to volunteer.
Note that each volunteer who completes a count has the power to direct a $50 donation to the organisation or service club of their choice ( eg Bike North!). A pack including all necessary materials, including a Super Tuesday tee-shirt will be provided to each volunteer before the day and the counts are entered directly onto the Super Tuesday web-site.
Let's make this event an even greater success this year so we can build up the data for the future!
Regards

Just heard this from my cycling friend at Warringah Council:
Ten more Bike Counting Volunteers desperately needed for this Tuesday 2 March 2010, 7am to 9am!
Volunteers are still needed for these locations in Warringah:

If you can help out please visit http://www.bv.com.au/bike-futures/91111/
Also, if you commute in these parts - it wouldn't hurt to optimise your route to take in as many of these locations as possible!
