Flying in from NZ to do Dirtworks 100. Need to rebuild and service bike after flight and before event. Where is a good shop enroute from airport to St Albans??

Are you staying?

Avanti at Chatswood are good but book in advance as they are usually busy. I believe Bike Addiction at Manly are also good and i think they sell Yeti. Both are on the north of Sydney Harbour which is on your way to St Albans.

BA in Manly as already noted or CBD in the City (right next to Wynyard station).

OK - so depending on where you end up staying there are probably other choices too, but you know what I mean? You say, 'enroute from airport' but I assume you'll be dropping it off, going someplace overnight and coming back?

Avanti at Chatswood are a Specialized store - I wouldn't be taking a Yeti there!

I would also call them now and book in as they get busy as coming up to major events.

Fly in Friday early am. Might stay with rallies on Friday night or book in somewhere enroute to St Albans but more so in suburbs heading out. Saturday, drive to Wiseman Ferry and have accommodation somewhere before crossing on the Ferry.

But absolutely critical to call them now and book in. I know CBD gets a huge number of bikes in for service in the week before dirtworks. ( incidentally, the guys from CBD will be at the race providing mechanical assistance, both at the start and at the 50km mark at Ten Mile Hollow)

Good luck

Can't recomment them highly enough but they do require a few days to get everything done.

Book in now, as most of the major bike shops will turn you away in the 7-10 days prior to a major race like DW. Make sure you tell them that it is a pre-race service so they know you absolutely have to have it before the race weekend.

Top notch for Yeti!

BTW be warned the ferry is very small (approx 20 car capacity), and the queue to get across will be very long. I would advise going up the night before if you don't want to miss the start.

Can't you use either one heading to St Albans? - unless you're coming in Sunday morning for the 50, but even then, it should only be restricted for less than an hour until the 100 starters are out of the way.

You certainly can on the way back. Using the bigger ferry (or ferries if its busy) is much quicker than the mega queue on the way home for the Webb's Ck ferry after the presentations.

I totally forgot about the alternate 2nd ferry crossing, still I remember the queue being well over an hour or more, and that was on the Saturday too.

we can turn bikes out in 3 days or when a major race is on we stay back at night to get every one happy.. just hit me up if you need it urgent....
