I'm in for the 100. It is heaps harder but I thought i would give it a shot. You do return to the start after 50 so if I am shattered by then its easy to pull out.
my plans are a bit up in the air at the moment with possible work conference at the same time.
So have signed up to be the Sweep dude to make sure you all get back safely.

There is a 15/30/60k charity race on at Wollombi that weekend, it's on the Saturday. I didn't realise that the doctor was on the same weekend and signed up for Wollombi instead.
So another option if you missed out for the 50k doctor.

It's more or less like the dirt works 50. I recall some nice long descents. Almost all firetrail or overgrown firetrail, except for maybe 600m of paddock crossing and a gravel road to the finish as there was for DW. But then 60 km makes up for those bits.
It was a mass untimed start but no rider conjestion ever and the timing was well done at the end.
Yeah, if you're going stick it in the calendar and see if there are any takers.
Don't like the sound of, "The course is about 35ks of gravel roads, around 20ks of rough 4wd fire trail roads and about 10kms of single track or paddock." though

I'm in! This will be my first 100km. Bought my first bike (well, first that didn't have stabilizers and A-Time cards in the spokes) 10th April this year, and this will be my first 100km. So glad I didn't read Phil Beresford's Angry Dr 2009 report BEFORE I signed up to the 100km.
I quote "Final thoughtsThe Dr was by far the most difficult race I had ever entered and harder than the Dirtworks 100. I salute all those who's first 100 this was,...."
Still the dust will be a welcome change to mud of Capital Punishment (50km)!
Do a search on connect.garmin.com and you'll find a few.
I looked there earlier this morning and found a few, including Phil's!
I simply searched for "Angry" at location "Mogo, NSW, Australia"
I think this year's course will be slightly different so you won't be able to use it as a guide or training partner during the event, but should give a good idea of the profile etc.
So is mine! Last year's was my first 100 and it was nearly the end of me. Was such a hard slog but in hindsight it was so much fun. Can't wait to better my time this year (It shouldn't be hard!). The Snake track (my profile pic) makes all the pain and suffering worthwhile.
Re the earlier comment about it being a bit different this year, and seeing I'm doing the 50 this year (again), it'd be nice if the 50 was the last 50 of the 100 instead of the first 50. Be nice to get into that Maulbrooks sniggle. When I did the 100 a couple of years ago, I was so stuffed by the time I got to the snake track I really didn't enjoy it apart from the fact that it went downhill.....
It was hot last year
I remember rideable climbs which always seemed to eke out more single track flow than the climb felt
I was delirious between about 65-75k which is relentless climbing
80 - 95 i remember as great with the snake track the highlight
I was fortunate enough to run the last 5
i'm doing it again
can't believe they upped the entry 30 bucks and still sold out in a day
Despite all the comments I went ahead and got myself an entry in the 100km!
Now all I need is my bike back and I can start training
After putting on a few kilos since DirtWorks and over this horrible wet period I looked on it as being motivation and a goal to aim for. Increase my fitness, drop a few kg, and go have some fun!
As for the entry fees - yes it is quite expensive and when you add in accommodation and travel it will become quite an expensive weekend. Oh well...
But if you had forgotten then get online now!
Got mine, dont know what im in for but it looks hard.
ps only the 50km
I'm in for the 100Km.
Has there been a ride meeting created for this yet?
I'm in and yes there is no meeting. I was going to do it but thought knowing my luck someone else would be doing it at the same time.
How difficult is this event? Just wondering whether to sign up for the 50km or 100km.
How does it compare to Dirtworks 100?
Did you sign up for the 50 or 100 Brian?
Cheers
Jon

GD and I are in the intern
at 11am the site said it was full.
If anyone wants to sell their ticket, let me know.
The heat and dust can't possibly be as bad as last year. So I'm going to see if I can better my time.
For those who haven't done it before, here's my race report from last year. http://nobmob.com/node/10581
PB
I did my first 100 at Dirtworks this year in 7 hours 32 minutes so for this one should be 6.5 hours at the most
my plans are a bit up in the air at the moment with possible work conference at the same time.

That sounds interesting... got the details?

When it says 1400 metres of climbing, is the vertical?
"The Irate Intern 50km is the first 50km of the 100km course and covers 1,400m of total climbing"
"Total climb for the 100km course is 2,850m."
Ha ha - sucked in! You'll love and hate every minute of it
EDIT: Actually my profile is pic is taken at last years event.
Has someone got a GPS profile from last year as I just checked all the blogs and nothing.

100 km is sold out as well should be a fun race
Angry Doctor & Irate Intern, sold out in 6hrs! Scheisse!!

@ Loki
If you are familiar with Cascades in the Garigal National Park (look it up in here) then that sums it up!
8 Hours of up / down /up /down /up down...........from memory only 13% flat!
I did the 100 then the 50 now I do the "you can shove that event up your #%@"
Hope this helps (if you got a ticket)
Pikey
Just like Pikey said.. Horrible race. Way too much climbing for the good bits (It was mighty hot last year though).
I think they are trying to talk you out of it!
You can beat them....
Go Loki!
The sweeping downhill singletrack is awesome! Can't wait to do it all again.

It's getting crazy with these entry fees. Add accommodation and everything else it gets expensive.

I've booked a cabin at Broulee Beach for Sat & Sun so everything is sorted. I just need to make sure I don't slacken off too much over winter.
