Hey all,

Received this in the electronic mail today, great news if your a Specialized fan and want to take the newest (including Roadies) bikes for a spin -

Specialized is hosting 'Test the Best' in Sydney this weekend at Olympic Park for two days, demoing some of the best bikes Specialized has to offer. They will have a fleet of nearly 40 mountain bikes and road bikes. This is a great opportunity for customers to try the some of the best bikes on the planet including the elite S-Works series bicycles.

Saturday 13th November Event details:
Test the Best – Sydney
Where: Olympic Park – Homebush, NSW (At P5 car park, Hill Rd)
Hours: 8am to 4pm

Sunday 14th November Event details:
Test the Best – Sydney
Where: Olympic Park – Homebush, Cathy Freeman Park (Adjacent to ANZ Stadium)

MTB and Road demo
Bikes Included will be: S-Works Epics 26 an 29rs, Stumpjumpers, Eras, Safires, S-Works Tarmacs, S-Works Roubaixs, S-Works Amiras, Rubys

The list above is ALL they are showing.

Nothing bigger than a Stumpy (for those maybe looking for an Enduro, SX, Demo etc)

Strange time to do it with the Fling on. I know that only a comparatively small proportion of riders will be down south but I would suggest that they would be the target market obviously for the mtbs but even the roadies. I would have loved to give these a ride but am heading off tomorrow morning.

It was going to take place AT the Fling but I think the recent weather forced a last minute change of plans.

Ashfield cycles have recently become a Specialized dealer and the show is one way Specialized supports its dealers, as well as having the bike fit set up in store.

In case your wondering I dont work for Ashfield cycles or anything, but lets face it all bike shops need our support cause although you can get great deals on the net, there are some things you cant beat the local shop for.

@ Olympic Stadium Sydney: Specialized "Test the Best" MTB bike event. While very common in the US and Europe, this test events are sadly very rare in Sydney.

I managed to get my hands on a nice carbon Epic 29'er....(N+1?...one day). Benji and his friend Greg tried the new Carbon Stumpjumpers (in kids size). We could actually try the bikes on dirt tracks at Olympic park and the nearby Monster Four Cross track. I've also tried the new 2011 Roubaix with carbon wheels on the road. Noice.

The prices will hopefully come down with the dollar parity. (The current bikes in the shops were ordered and priced 8 months ago)

Note: The crew mentioned that there will be another MTB specific test event in March, probably at Ourimbah.

Epic 29'er - noice....
