lithgow info
hello, just wondering if the lithgow trails are do-able comfortably in a day from sydney leaving early?, or does it really have to be an overnighter?
cheers, Alex

According to Google (hit the directions link on the Lisdale page) it's 2h36 from our place (St Leonards), but seem to recall only taking 2h to get back (we drove up via another route) so you should be good if you get a decent night's rest before.
Well worth the trip, but Flynny reports is fnerkun freezing up there right now!
thanx rob, think i might brave the cold! going stir crazy with all this rain, think lithgow might be one of the few dry runs out there at the mo!- besides it looks awesome
Hiya Alex,

How'd you know that... according to this:

Lisdale has been one of the dryer places. Don't tell me it's... erm... inaccurate!

If it is dry and cold, I can hack that. If it's cold and wet, we are no better off than here.
I'll call my brother and find out what's happening out there. Can our luck hold out? Stay tuned.
Flynny!! Can you help us??? : )
Canberra has had showers today but clearing.......oh no, sorry I've been day dreaming again.
Yes, I have had those daydreams on and off since Monday!
I seem to recall that you're graphs are created from data captured from the radar. The Sydney radar suffers from a bit of a black spot on the other side of the Blueys only registering very high rain, rain from lower level clouds will be missed.
That's a good point... so it's actually wetter out there than the graphs are showing?
I did notice that there's a distinct band around the 100Km mark on the Sydney radar where things look iffy and chose to avoid using readings from this band.
The Newcastle radar can see to Lithgow, but at the moment looks like it's seeing less falling there than the Sydney one, so perhaps it's less accurate?
Of course, this was never meant to be an exact science, it tells us what we need to know, which is things are wet!
access, atleast they are on the right side of the mountains. Just a thought.
Nope... Lithgow isn't on any other radar - I'm not that dumb
Going by the depth of the small stream running through my yard it could only be described as wet to very wet. John
It's been wet (Water level in lake Lyle rose 4m last week!) Chix day got canned today but we will still be racing tomorrow. Trails around here drain well and hold up good in the wet. It's suppose to clear tomorrow.
4.2m in Lake Lyell now. Mate that power station up the river needs to release some water or the poor buggers at Eagles Nest(?) are going to go broke. Nice spot for a weekend away, but only if there is water in the lake.
Watre almost lapping the bottom of the boat ramp. Another 20 meters and it might be up tot he spot we use to deep water start on the wake board... Power station pumps out of Lyle back up to Wallace.
Fun was had at the race today. Track was a bit muddy to start but a few runs down and it dry up enough to be tacky on some corners slippery on the others.
