...i suspect that track is in part under water - my butcher said Manly Dam had overflowed when he was walking his dog there...
maybe we will all have to try the theory Gaz is doing - riding in the sitting room on one of those stationary bike stand things...

Carolin and I were chatting it about it not too long ago i.e. get a few ppl with trainers together and find somewhere that has a scenic view and grind crank pound pedal together...

Ahh.... this could work if you found a gym which had stationary bikes with hydraulic rams and stuff to throw the bike/react to your movements.

You'd need big screens and some kind of video game to control it all.

The gym in our place only has 2 bikes and don't think they'd be too keen on the mods either. Oh well Eye-wink

i set up a pc at my local bike shop about 2yrs ago which was hooked up to a trainer.
basically the trainer was connected to the usb port of the pc (had a funky cable), the front wheel was also connected to record movement left and right, then the PC ran a program which recorded speed, average speed, cadence, kms etc. It also had a game you could run, one was for roadies and the other was a mtb xc loop, the harder you pedal the faster you went, moving the steering made you go left and right obviously, was a pretty average game but was better than watching oprah or dr phil. The only probelm was you had to buy a specific trainer which had all the appropriate connections and the software (software was protected by a dongle to stop piracy), it was not cheap, around $1500 all up if i remembered correctly, i remember saying to the owner that he will never sell a set at that price, one yr later i was correct, didnt even sell one copy and he sent the unit back to the manufacturer (was on loan as a demo).
