took me 9+ hours to finish the 100km race. In comparison I finished the highland fling in about 6 1/2 hrs.
The first 50k's were tough, almost broke me. Luckily a girl told me the second 50 was all dry single track and nothing like the first 50, otherwise I would have pulled out. I must have walked 20kms in the first 50, and could bearly manage to walk up without sliding back down.Riding down was just all sideways action, and it was funny seeing people go ass over tit all over the place.
The second half was great riding, really great tracks down there, and thankfully they held up pretty well in the rain.
I can't believe people finished that in just over 5 hours, that's just nuts.

Few injuries in there too. I went passed, guys with broken shoulder, broken nose, snake bite, and apparently some guy ruptured an artery in his ankle.

At least I beat Tinker Juarez(dnf) though. :-}

you, not Tinker!( although he is, but who can say they beat tinker juarez in a mountain bike race!)
