Yeah - a few of us here have the Edge 305. After initial teething troubles mine has come good (few S/W updates sorted it out). The mounts are not the best (I've seen several broken, Tien lost his unit as a result), nor are the front two buttons that can clog with sand but there are ways round both of these problems.

Hang fire as there are new versions out at the end of the year that might help with the button issue at least.

Unless you are desperate for something to wear on your wrist the Edge is better than forerunner. You could wear it in an iPod armband type thing anyhow if you want for running.

I got mine from GPS-OZ at Mona Vale. You might find cheaper on an import but not by much I would think.

The maps on here (the KMZ files) cannot be loaded directly into the Edge. But they are maps that show trails in different areas - not specific routes to ride in those areas. I was thinking of adding a gallery of MotionBased routes though so you could go see the exact profile and distance on a number of routes in and around each ride area. From MotionBased you can download the CRS directly to the Edge and follow it.
