On page 35 of today's daily is says there is a race at the Dam today at 10:30am?

Below is the image. I intentionally included the bit below it to show the date and page number.

Anyone know what went on there? The council has always said there will be no competition at the Dam, but maybe they changed their tune and we can look forward to some events?

Or as someone said elsewhere... perhaps the Daily got it all wrong?

Didn't actually go there but by looking at the advertisement, i don't think it's an actual 'race' as such. No race fee and on no previous advertising for one of the most poppular courses on the NB doesn't make sense.
But here's hoping that this is just the beginning of a line of events at the dam Smiling

Newbies don't race.... Eye-wink

The details are surprisingly similar to that calendar entry..... http://nobmob.com/node/30635 except for the race bit.

Is the Manly 'far too often' taking up the cudgel in a push to gain readers?

It looks like they've scraped from this site, so how many people turned up?

I got the impression that it was an advertised group ride with a bad title.

What section of the paper was it in.?

I was there at 10:15 and there was no race being setup at all.

I've sent an email to [email protected] to see what it was referring to.

Just an update on this, after a few emails back and forth their final response was

"I don't know who placed the ad maybe you can contact our advertising department on 9976 1965"

I replied that it wasn't and ad but in the what's on section but obviously its too hard for them.
