Hi,
Is there a starting point of the Manly Damn trail near closer to Allambie Road ?
I was thinking of starting the trail for the first time here at the attached picture.

I work in French's Forest so a pre-work ride is do-able.

cheers,
MB

So you can start it anywhere you like and you will (eventually) get back to your starting point.

Most people start at either the top (Wakehurst Parkway) or the bottom (King Street, Manly Hydraulics Lab) and a substantial number start at the Manly Vale School.

You can also ride in to the track from the Tennis Courts behind Allambie Shops, but you need to remember where that entry/exit point is or you might go past it on the way back.

There's a handy parking area nearer to Monserra/Jennifer on the section you have indicated which would be a good place.

See this link here http://nobmob.com/node/198 and just head downhill from there Smiling

I live in Allambie and there are probably three main places that I would enter from in the area. Off Cootamundra just past the Reserve, off Monserra near the top of Jennifer Avenue and just next to the car park at the end of Nyrang Road. You can enter near the tennis courts behind Allambie Oval/shop, you just need to go down the firetrail that joins up with the track whereas the other three entry points are directly on to the track.

I normally go via the tennis courts, after riding down the steps near the cricket nets coming off the oval. Reminds the brain that it's not a road ride and to be ready to deal with the bike moving around. Eye-wink

Ka-dunk ka-dunk ka-dunk ka-dunk ka-dunk! Smiling

The rain is belting down at the moment, the track is won't be fit to ride without a couple of days' worth of wind and sun unfortunately.

Terrey Hills fire trails would be about the only rideable locations ... if you don't mind your bike making horrible grinding noises from the accumulated wet crud in your drive train and brakes. Smiling
