Should I count on a slow trip from town to Botany after having stuffed my face?
I'll be on my brand new roadie singlespeed, with bull bars! Having shunned the roadie thing for too long I cannot believe how smooth this thing is, hills I grind up on the hardtail I shot up in what I think is 46-16 gearing, though it still takes almost as long to get to work simply because of traffic lights, more fun though.
Matt, Rob, I'm assuming you are coming in from the north somewhere - I'd be keen to find out the route you take and maybe I could tag along? I have to make my way to Alexandria so I'd assume a similar route to Matt from the city
Well - I'm actually not having breakie in the city, there's one on at the
PrisonOpfus Campus basketball court here in North Ryde if anyone is in that area (Paul St North on the map).I live in the dark side (Inner West) like any sensible boy should, so I can't help you much. My route to Botany is via Anzac Bridge, Pyrmont Bridge, Oxford St, Centennial Park bike paths and then Banks St south, so a wide berth given to Alexandria!
just put my registration through, anyone coming in to the city from newtown way? should be down at hickson st for brekkie by 730.
i commute from quakers hill to castle hill 4 days a week so nothing really different for me.
Hopefully i will see other riders from my area doing the commute.
Maybe i might buy a bacon and egg roll from the cafe for the speacial occasion
Don
I might see you there, I'll be at Hickson St for maybe 7.15.
Ta,
Matt.
and i have to drive in tomorrow to see a customer!!!! ahh the irony...
I will be riding in with Clint on Wednesday morning into the city. Leaving Cremorne at about 6:45 a.m. Anyone interested is welcome to join us. I will also be at Miller's Point soon thereafter.
No road riding comments please. I will be doing my best to locate at least some gutters to jump off on the way. I will be blasting along on the road on a real bike at least.
And the inner roadie begins to break out...
starts arm warmers? bugger bought a pair recently... although used them more on the mtb than the roadie
have been on the roadie and must confess to participation in the 100km round the Bays in a Day this weekend as part of a corporate team means some road training has been had at the expense of trails - getting VERY toey.
Still, any day on a bike is a good day - better if off road but...
Woulda been in tomorrow but traveling - enjoy boys (and girls)
There was a photographer at the end of the Anzac bridge this morning snapping all who went by, does anyone know where all these photo's might be? Stupid question I know but a bit of searching on the web hasn't come up trumps...
Ta,
Matt.
You're getting cheeky mate. That was a once off. And there will be no repeats.
Nice ride to Darlington (USyd) from McMahons Point this morning. 9Km 28 Mins. Flamin traffic jam at Milsons point getting onto the bridge. TV Cameras and snappers here to.. The pollies were out in force spruiking...
Was great to see so many bikes!
Not surprisingly it takes about the same time to drive..intending to ride more often.
Craig
