With the tracks around Sydney still pretty damp - I got up at about 6.30 on Sunday morning and headed out to Wisemans Ferry for a spin up the Northern Road. It only takes about an hour to get there early in the morning. Down at the carpark was misty and 3 degrees so shivered myself over the river on the ferry. There's nothing that quite describes these mornings out there - as you ride up the first hill and slowly break out of the mist - then as you reach the gate at the top the sun hits you - the fingers have just got feeling back in them and you are totally pumped for the rest of the ride. The track was in superb condition as it drains well off the ridgeline - I'd highly recommend anyone to get out there over the winter as much as possible. There's an array of tracks out the back that can give you an easy 50km (and more) loop. And the ride back from the intersection of the road and the western commission road is epic. It's rides like this that renew that addiction to the bike. Serenity!

Sounds nice there. Is it more firetrails or singletracks?
