Definitely should make some great TV to watch the event. Plenty of width for easier overtaking. Trail looks very smooth at the moment. except for a few techy sections.
A few spots made me question the trails sustainability for the long run. Do they plan to keep it open after the games? Or will it get shut down like Fairfield city farm?

Wonder if anyone will ride a cyclocross bike.... Looks like it might be a dusty road race and getting off and running down those few tech sections might be quicker than lugging a proper mtb around the rest of the course.

I know everything looks flat of tv but a few people who have seen it first hand have commented on how "meh" it is. Looks like it might add a bit of weight to Phil Liggets arguements.

I think the lack of trees to weave through create the Meh factor

Yeah, some of the course looks a bit boring from a rider's perspective, but it's not a road and if they get the cameras up into a couple of choppers and have some close racing, it should be great to watch. And that's what it's all about at the Olympics..... and maybe should be for more of the WC events.

Could be pretty tough if the grassy bits are wet, and maybe they need some bunting on the switchbacks to prevent short-cutting.

DH skiing is prevalent in the Winter Olympics. Why not DH MTB in the summer games?

Agree that the course points towards a re-naming of hummock biking.....
