Hi all

TrailCare has been meeting and liaising with Council staff (Damian and Christina) and also the mayor, Michael Regan and Councillors Christina Kirsch and Virginia Laugesen.

We have also attended a few Council meetings where there was unanimous support from all Councillors for dirt jumps.

Two of their staff including the head MD ranger just attended the 4 day IMBA Masterclass in Hornsby where the got hands on experience on the new track under construction.

There is a lot going on behind the scenes by Council that is not common knowledge. They are currently working on the following:

4. Warringah Council mountain biking activities in 12/13 include

a) Manly Dam Mountain Bike Track upgrade - Warringah Council will be
upgrading the Manly Dam mountain bike track in the 12/13 and 13/14
financial years. Stakeholders including Trail Care will be consulted
when the planning gets underway in late 2012.

This also includes the reinstatement of volunteer days!!!!! We will keep you posted on dates.

b) Mountain bike hub - this idea is being considered for the outdoor
area adjacent to the Warringah Aquatic Centre (WAC) & research is being
undertaken by Warringah Council as part of the WAC Site Development
Strategy.

c) Dirt Jump track - research began in July 2012 regarding a dirt jump
track proposal for Warringah. Stakeholders including Trail Care will be
consulted.

Council is also supportive of our efforts at Red Hill and Oxy.

TrailCare is happy to provide coordinated feedback to Council, otherwise please contact:
1. The Warringah Council contacts for Sport & Recreation including
mountain biking are Christine Deaner (Recreation Planner 9942543)&
Damian Ham (Manager Recreation 99422972)

Many Dam upgrade, excellent...compared to NZ trails, its just a walking path at present, needs new trail cut in to make the wakehurst downhill firetrail into Downhill single trail, also needs a link from Warringah Aquatic centre walkway (creekjump)
Would like to see MD 100% single trail from start to finish.

finally volunteer Days, and IMBA trained MD management!

Mountain bike hub...interesting..what would this include, want to be on the same page before suggesting via the Have your say link?

If you havent allready joined Trailcare people, show some thanks for all this hard work and do it today! www.trailcare.com.au
