Mount Annan for Kids?

Can someone tell me if the "Competent" trail at Mount Annan is ok for a 5yo who is confident on their bike (good on bmx and pump tracks) but is only on 16" wheels?

Also, is the pump track open? I can't find anything about it on the official website.

Oops, double posted.

The green loop should be good for him, the first creek crossing may be a little tricky for him. He may run short on lung capacity with the winding climbs and small logs to roll over.

Blue loop may be ok also as there is only minor technical features and most have a b-line.

From my knowledge the pump track is open.

Realistically it's probably a bit technical for a 5 year old.

Have you tried the track around Narrabeen Lake?

Last time I saw the pump track (that BMX style thing in between competent and intermediate, right?) it was quite washed out from the rain. But that was like more than a month or two ago.

Took my 6 yo daughter there and she basically walked the course. Mind you she does track cycling so she tends to think of trail features as things that need to be fixed. I do know some other kids who ride a good part of the Mt Annan course.

The big problem I find with small kids and mtb is the ratio of rider weight to bike weight. The giant that my daughter rides weighs 13 kg, and she only weighed 21 kg when she last went to Mt Annan. Imagine how an 80 kg rider would go on a 50 kg bike - you wouldn't find yourself doing many front wheel lifts!
