The Pinch Ride
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Cascade Trail head. About 5Km West of Thredbo Village along The Alpine Way.
Mountains, here we come!
Re-enactment of the great Pinch Ride of 2004 (gallery). No GPS from that, but the route is a little bit like this found on MB here for future reference on Garmin Connect:
https://
Minus the leg from Thredbo (we'll start Cascade Trail head) and the bit this dude got lost in the middle - so maybe this will end up around 55Km all up.
Apparantly the last decent is a real workout for the brakes, be sure to have your bike in tip-top condition!
Vertical stats to make you drewl: +1560m / -2711m
A shuttle back to Jindy after this ride (and to the start from there most likely) is planned. So if you are coming be sure to contact the other riders beforehand to make sure you'll fit!
Were you there and have a story to tell?

back from where you have come?
So how do you get back to where you started? Ride back up that 55km!?
think alike obviously
reply, we must be pure genius.
Rob, there is no fun in updating your initial ride post to make it look like Buck and I can't read, remember we are both genius material mate.
Hey - have just noticed that it's about 8.7Km round trip to the Victorian border from the Ingeegoodbee/Nine Mile junction. Not saying for sure, but perhaps if we are feeling ultra fit on the day it might be worth stepping over there?
Doesn't quiet have the same caché as the France/Switzerland hop but about as close are we're going to get here.
P.S. Check out that MB route in Google Earth... oh yeah!
This rides a tentitive for me as my family has been invited to stay with freinds in their holiday house at Jindabyne from 28th Dec to the 3rd of Jan and as I want to do the Cannonball on the Sunday I may be pushing it, well see.
