Hey Fellas,
Just wondering how you folk North of the bridge manage to ride between city and Turramurra without using the Pacific Highway?.
I rode out last week from city to Turramurra, BH,GG, BW, BH, back to Turramurra which was really nice, but the Pacific Highway between North Sydney and Turramurra was horrible, Any tips on how to avoid it?
Cheers String

Hey
I ride from Turramurra (kissing point road) to UNSW a few times a week. Starting at Turramurra, I know alot of people go down kissing point road through browns water hole and onto the M2/epping road bike path.

I ride on the highway to Gordon then take Park ave on the left then right onto werona which turns into Lindfeild Ave then Hill street. Keep going onto archer street (chatswood), cross over boundary road and jump onto the bike path on weedon street in artarmon. This connects up to the bike paths under the freeway and joins on to Miller street (Cammeray). From here, its anyones guess as to the quickest way. Either straight down Miller Street, onto the shoulder of the freeway or onto the golf course track (which I am yet to find) I usually take the freeway shoulder which is sign posted for bikes, very wide and legal to ride on down to Alfred Street (no other part of the freeway is rideable).

Archer/Werona are commonly used by commuters and have a fair few climbs.

Way home is pretty much the same. Off the bridge, ride up miller street, left onto ridge street, right onto west street until it joins the freeway bike paths. Same route back to gordon then onto pearsons road, mona vale road and grandview street through pymble. Usually join the highway at telegraph road (pymble)

Still not convinced my route is the quickest and easiest but it is commonly used up to Gordon. If you find a better route, let me know.
Cheers

Hi there rp91,
Many thanks for sharing your local knowledge on the routes. Im planning to head out for the 3 gauges ride this afternoon (being the last weekend before the Fling and all) and will follow your route.
I am aware of some of the areas you mention so shouldn't be hard to piece it together with help of Google Maps
Have a great weekend
