What can I say, it was almost a perfect day !

I hadnt been able to get out for a big training ride with the group, and had done a single ride on GNR in the lead up. From the pre-ride it seemed many of the lines in technical sections had changed or even gone, and I had noted the reports of the condition of Jacks Track. I wanted to continue to improve on result from last year and was motivated with the impressive riding from the other boys in our riding group.

Anyhow, just a quick summary
the closed road section at the start was much better this year even if some riders jumped on the brakes to hard on a few occasions
climbing the technical sections was tough as I found myself reverting to muscling the bike through - will need to adjust suspension accordingly
I need to work more on the rough fast descents
That womerah climb just never ends
Well done Brian for pushing through along Womerah
That bloody sand at the creek crossing seemed 3 feet deep, dont know how anybody rode it
Coming together on the last road section and finishing with Mike and Brian even though I hadnt ridden with them at all up to that point
Time seemed to go really quickly - maybe I didnt go hard enough even though cramps were lurking after holding HR to high in the first 30Km
Couldnt believe how fast the leaders had finished - 10th place in category this year was 15 minutes faster than last year
The beer and the smiles at the finish !

Huge congrats and thanks to the "training group" as has been mentioned in the other blogs. It has been a real pleasure and inspiration to ride together. Looking forward to some more social rides and see you on the trails soon.

Well done Dave. Good to see you come back after I thought I had you when I took the inside line Smiling

The racing is all so close now for our group and I'm looking forward to the Fling now to see what unfolds.

Sounds like a very good race and very good time.

All those laps in LCNP must have paid off Eye-wink see you down there.

Awesome ride Dave. My brother said to say thanks for the company although it seems you left him behind along the top of womerah.
