Rob Crying Sand Why does blinking make sand come out of my eyes? Yes, this was a top, top ride but not really what was intended. I had this mental plan that today was to be the peak of Dirtworks training (2 weeks out). In this mental plan I was to ride until...

Were you there and have a story to tell?

Bernd,

I'll be there as I haven't ridden much lately, but 6.31 is damn early.

Bernd's picture

..if there are more Idiots who would like to ride in the rain and we may start at 6:33!!!
Bernd

Harry's picture

I may join this one - would also vote slightly later and no not 6.41

Bernd's picture

... best I can offer would be 6:58!!!
Bernd

Paul's picture

I'm happy with 6.58, that way I get a sleep in (it is a Sunday after all)

Andy Bloot's picture

But not a moment before.
After coughing like a smoker all week, after a cold all last weekend, I need a spin of the legs near home.
Glad it's no earlier than 6.31am though. 6.30 is just too hard to manage

Morgan's picture

Anything after dawn's crack would be fine. Someone just confirm which one and I'll be there.

Harry's picture

if it's not raining - see you at 6.50

Bernd's picture

..call, Harry, 6 : 50 it is!!!!

Done!

As previously mentioned I'm bailing from the silly tough GNR ride for health reasons. Had a work out on the wind trainer (I wonder if Gazza ever wants this back? Eye-wink) this eve and felt OK, but think to try for mega GNR ride might be silly, especially in the cold and wet. Can always tag on some more kays around the area after this one if anyone is willing anyhow.

See you there! Laughing out loud

who are you guy 's and whats the length of this duck hole to terry hill ride.....i'm keen
live dangerously

As seen here:

Dunno what pace the guys have in mind, but an hour to hour and half should do it. As I said before, if things are going well would consider another lap or adding another trail on but we can decide that on the day.

Bernd's picture

...Rob, I'm planing on more than just Duck Hole!!
Bernd

Andy Bloot's picture

I think Rob means 1.5 hours for the whole lot knowing him

Paul's picture

Bernd has post a 3 hr ride, so reading between the lines I take that as Duck Hole and Centre (14k's) then Perimeter and Long track (21k's). Anything additional is up for negotiation.

Tomboy come along Rob is a Cannondale rider so you will have someone else to drink lattes with

Bernd's picture

..Paul, and Yes, the ride will be Duck/Gentre and then Perimeter & Long!!!
Sorry for the poor post from meeeeeee...
I may need my 15 Year old Motorbike Rain Gear!!
Bernd

Stuart M's picture

they swing back past the cars after Duck Hole and Centre track before heading out to Perimeter / Long

tomboy's picture

time is my concern as i've got footy later in the morning ......so after all is said and done what time are we actually starting? live dangerously

markrrrrr's picture

I'd be keen to join you for the Perimeter & Long tracks section only, any thoughts as to what time you might be at the cars on your way through?

Cheers, Mark

Damien's picture

I was going to head up the oaks for an up and back but this ride looks just as good see you at 6.50am.

Stuart M's picture

TomBoy this ride is starting at 6.50am so you want to be at the start point on your bike ready to ride at that time. So you need to get there early enough to get yourself ready to roll by 6.50am

Markrrr, Duck Holes and Centre would normally take about an hour going solo. A larger group will be slower than this, normally upto an 1hr and a 1/2, but given this is a training ride and there are a couple of quicks now putting their hand up for this one it is entirely possible they will be close to the hour mark, barring mechanicals of course. So really need to be ready to roll by about 8am ish, assuming they start close to on time.

If they don't go back to the cars they will come along Beltana Ave and then Cowrang Avenue. Best bet would be to wait at the junction of these two Rds where the oval is. I would also strongly suggest you take Bernds, Pauls and atleast one others mobile numbers with you, call them when you get there so you can find out exactly where they are and if they are planning to come back to the cars or just ride through.

Weather permitting I might see you boys on the return leg along Long or Perimeter trails. Still trying to shake this head cold so am only a slight chance but if I do go it will be early than this start time.

Cheers

Stuart

i'll be there at the shops at 6.45am, just did red hill and narrabeen...heaps wet live dangerously

markrrrrr's picture

for the detailed response. I'll do as suggested and be at the intersection and take the mobile numbers. Don't count on me definitely being there and don't wait around for me but will try to make it and call one of the guys if I'm there.

Cheers, Mark

I rode Perimeter and long today both were very firm. There were the usual standing puddles but surprisingly little muck thrown up by my tyres.

Bernd's picture

... was "good pace with minimal stops"!!!!!
You guys are nut's....

36Km in 1h55m ride time, even though this isn't quiet what I had in mind was pretty happy with that.

Thanks all Smiling
