its been raining hard over night in the east. Any news of the weather over western sydney for this weekends race? I recon its gonna be a mud bath and ive got 8 hours of it!

Yeah... I've got to change the rear anyhow so maybe Crossmarks will not be very useful on Sunday. Options I have are Highroller, Ignitor, Larsen, Crossmark and Bontranger nobby something (non-UST).

I'm thinking Ignitor front + Highroller to start and take the nobby ones and tubes in case things are really bad.

i only have crossmarks which are in a useable condition, so i guess i am using them no matter what condition the track gives us, was a bit sketchy last time i was there after it had rained but the track dried quickly and became very fast and tacky.
Forecast is for light rain tomorrow but clear/cloudy onm sun, with any luck we might have a nice fast tacky track with the occasionly and inevitable mud pile or 2.
Should be fun

up here in the mountains, and as long as it stays away from now the track will be quite good, it drains quickly and will leave only a few small muddy areas, I did a couple of laps of the 8hr course last Friday night which is a beauty, it includes the rocky climb round to the right after Max's bridge.
Gazza, are you going solo this weekend?
Rob, my opinion on your tyres would be igniter as you said for the front and larsen on the back.
As Leximack said this track gets nice and tacky very quickly.
Cheers John.

yes mate. going solo. was kind of relishing the rain as im used to the muddy conditions from the uk. dont get me wrong, id much rather it be dry and flowing but i thought riding in a swamp might have brought back some instincts from way back and given me an edge over some of the aussie riders but i must admit, after being here for over ten years, i run for cover at the slightest sprinkle of rain so i think it would be too much of a shock to the system to do an eight hour in wet conditions( hope none of my old yorkshire riding buddies see this, we used to ride in the snow!)
see you there,
gazza
p.s. are you planning on bringing the tarp for a cool transition/rest area?

You know you are now soft. Anyway, just think of last year's race - you did all those laps in the rain and muck. Eye-wink

That was Whisperer's tarp at the last 8hr as mine would be too big, I just supplied the poles etc. and yes I will bring them, I may be going down tomorrow to help out with the setup and score a prime spot for the Mob.
John.

if you go down let us know what the condition of the course is. See you sunday everyone. Liam, i dont think it rained last year did it? It was bloody cold though.

Gazza, i am bringing a tarp....hopefully it'll be big enough for a few of us

Wasn't that the Yellowmundee race you did last year, solo, and it rained on and off all day? Didn't Kath play pit crew for you?
