Ourimbah State Forest - Sun 31st Aug
North End of Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. There's a large-ish parking area here, just off the main sealed road. There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.
One week before the Angry Doctor, so aiming to have a semi-hard (way-hey!) ride, perhaps 4 laps of the main XC loop to get some sniggle skills practice and then perhaps an explore or some unknown (to me) trails, and/or some downhill fun.
The weather looks a little undecided coming up the weekend at the moment but the track does deal with the wet quite well (the grave yard is still off limits I believe making the lap less than 10km's). That said we will need to get a better idea before heading out.
Bring your own water and food, there are no refreshments up there. Bring a camera too, lots of option for jumps and insane grinning on the roller coaster.
Were you there and have a story to tell?

seeing as i live about 10 mins away, i might show up and meet some of you guys. possibly show you some tracks you haven't done yet.
I'm coming but I reserve the right to pull out should my knee not feel good after resuming riding on Saturday
Tom
Does anyone mind if I just hang around for a couple of laps? I have stuff to do in the afternoon.
BWOAR!
Hi Uncle, I think I met you the last time I was up there. Come along, you can do as many laps as you want. To be honest I don't think we will be going that hard as it is the weekend before the Doctor, we are more likely to be cruising I should think.
Guys, put me down as 1st reserve in case someone pulls out.
I've only ridden Ourimbah twice and I haven't ridden it for well over 3 years (which I'm assumed to admit) and after spending last weekend looking after the kids solo I have brownie points to burn.
Hi Paul
Don't worry about the limit, that is just a rough guide. You are more than welcome.
Yippee - I'm in, better dust off the Yeti
Well click the little star
sorry guys - physio said no riding, got lots of stretches to do now to get ready for the Angry Dr.
have fun and don't push on too hard
Tom
My wife is gotta go to Tuggerah on Sat, so I'm going to hit the Ourimbah track on Sat for a few hours instead. If anyone cares to join I will be there about 9:30am
Cheers
Evan
Hey bluray
You live close to the action, what has the weather been like? Do you think it will be ok? I see it is due to clear up later in the day.
According to the weather graphs it has rained less than in Sydney and looking at the radar its also not too bad.
I'm still happy to give it a go, is everyone else in.
I'm keen to give it a go. Bluray? You are local, look ok to you?
I might be a few minutes late but will keep you posted, see you there..
I'll see you there Dylan
has been raining here all night, @ still raining @ present I won't be riding .
It was muddy and slippery and so much fun - I have to go back when its dry

Thanks Paul
When I got home I noticed that I had broken a rear spoke and the whole wheel was out of true, perhaps another mechanical on the back of the car. Now the mad rush to get a wheel rebuild before the AD next weekend.
Tis a great track isn't it
