There is to be a rider limit of 2500 for the 24 this year
Entrys open on July 1 , less technical This year we're returning to our roots, celebrating what's best about mountain-biking - riding!
We'll be stitching together the best that Stromlo has to offer. The course will include the Red climb (long but not exactly a wall) followed by some brakes-free descending down Skyline to the Canberra bridge; some refinement to the downhill, then onto the firetrail for a short respite before picking up on last year's Blue.
TVE have been busy maintaining the trails and adding interesting new features: armoured creek crossings; easy table-tops; a see-saw. They've also been fixing up rain gutters and braking ripples. A bit more rain and you may even have some trees to run into!
What else? A T-shirt, heaps of free swag, a finishers prize, random give-aways, food, photographers, hot showers, camping under the stars with pizza a phone-call away. Got kids? Bring 'em, bond with them or enter them in the kids races.
Time to dust off the thermal gear .....
How did i get here ?
We'll be doing a mixed 40+ team for this one! We'll see if we can improve on our results from the Mont....
Whisperer
Steve01

Back for more with my elite team mates I better bloody do some work so I can keep up with the supa duo.
I'm interested in being part of a participatory team.
I'm 25, male. I have a shiny shine Scott which I have taken to a few WWS races, dirt works, that NRMA Oaks race... pretty much just been racing this year.
I'm pretty slow because I have been spending most of my time on weekends digging a track (the legal variety) in my back yard. But it's finished! So no excuses now. (Ok, one side of the loop joins up to the other half. I guess a track is never finished!)
Anyway, not looking to set any land speed records.. so putting my name out there.
Cheers
I've just put in my solo entry
you are insane!! well done - who is going to look after you?
Mum and Sis will be there, plus possibility of a couple of friends also. I'll owe them all big time.
sis?

solo it is
Can I blag lift down with anyone to this? I'm only small.
Can't believe it's so close now.. only 2 real weeks of training to go - gulp.
I've had a look at the course map, but not really familiar enough to figure if it goes through the camping area.
http://www.scott24hr.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2...
Last year we were a couple of hundred metres from the blue lap track, and it slowed transitions down (it just wasted time, because we were too slack to go down to transition)
This year we want to be closer, preferably 'on the track'. Has anyone figured out whether that's possible from the layout?
Has anyone from teams that are 'going for a result' thought about claiming a decent spot and want to work together on this one?
I'm going down on Friday morning, but from experience last year, the locals have the prime spots taken by then, so we are probably going to need our own local to help us.
FYI, I believe the 'social set' are aiming to be in the same position as last year.
For one to be social one needs to drink beer....that leads to the need to pass that beer at some stage hence the location of our camps need to be along the edge of the camp, preferably near a tree
See ya's down there
Pikey
pikey im sure a tree is suffice for you but i would love maybe a lavatory???
The toilet blocks are hotspots for bike thieves...
it sounds like options are settling for tree action or no drinking???
Hey guys i have a team of juniors and because we are school eights category
we get pretty awesome camping area! just wondering, like last year, we had
a couple of adult teams camp in with us and had pretty good set up!
just wondering if anyone wants to this year?
I might join you Alex as you did have a good spot on the track last year, and the added support could help me?
For some reason my wife struggles to keep my 2 bikes running sweet, keep me fed, hydrated, lights and batteries fitted, me informed of position, contact patch & chain lubed, clothed to the conditions and keep me circulating for 24 hours while keeping an eye on and feeding 2 kids.
I'm so glad I do the riding
John.
Looking forward to seeing you all there, liz is in sunny canberra as well.
yeah that sounds awesome we are going to have the club generator and pop up tents so will be good set up hopefully!
with tv's etc plus that way there will always be someone up and about to support you!
we could also map your times on our board to keep track of your podium pace!
Have fun doing those early morning laps http://www.weatherzone.com.au/act/act/mount-stromlo
Cool, looks like I am in if that Solo ticket comes through from Benny
The only question remains if I go home for a sleep while the battery charges (ducted heating, hot shower) or hang out with the Nobs
Good luck to all taking part. I'll be getting there at around 10:30 tonight...
It's going to be a cracker!
Dont know if these are official...
