Dirtworks course ride

Well, I have never ridden any of the trails on or near the Dirtworks course.

I found a ride of Rob's from last year http://nobmob.com/node/4518 that looks like a very good training ride.

I would post a ride, but having never ridden there I can't really lead the ride if you know what I mean.

So, just seeing if anybody is intersted in heading out to Wiseman's in the next couple of weeks on a Saturday for a ride?

If we make it Saturday 21 March, I will post it up as 'Sean's big birthday ride'... No better way to bring in a birthday than with a bit of pain in the legs...

Sounds good but for me I can't make it that weekend. My dads birthday as well and I will be away.

not a 'roidy ride then I would be interested... or maybe an A and B group - except, I too have no idea of the way ... during the 50 I just followed everyone else!
If it's your birthday does that mean celebratory food and drink after the ride?!!

Sure blondie, why not eh?

does fairy bread & beer go together well?

christine's picture

it's your birthday, you can put whatever food and drinks together you like (I sooooo had to re-phrase what I was going to write in case Stuart or Paul read my reply.. lol).
Fairybread and beer it will be!

But it would have to be the weekend after, the 28/29th.

weekend after then is the mont and the its the solo thing and i think most of the tour barbies are at one or both of those comps....then you are only two weeks out from dirtworks...

So it's training for the Mont and Dirtworks! Smiling

it must be catching this week... if Sean suggested the 21st (his birthday) and you suggest AFTER the 28th then we will be AT the Mont silly!!!

GeordieAndy's picture

I said the week after the proposed date, that being the 28/29th!

christine's picture

i am even less with it today if possible! sorry! lol Smiling

I'm up for the 21st and now I know how long it takes to drive.. there is a good chance that I may actually turn up on time Cool

I was supposed to meet up with the other "roid" group yesterday, but ended up running late and they had already left when i got there.. anyhow since they did 70K's in like no time flat, I'm kinda happy i missed them, I ended up doing near 40k in about three and a half hours. ( Clare's bridge and back ) Having not ridden more than 15K or so loops of red hill a couple times a week for the last month, I was happy that I probably could have put in another 20-30K's before I think i would have hit the wall.. in all honesty they would have to be rather flat or downhill K's Cool

My calculator tells me that all i need to do is find that extra 30K or so and I'm all good for the DW 100...

I am equally happy with doing the 28th...

actually, it would probably be better for me as far as family logistics go...

hands up who would be keen for Saturday 28th? That includes you blondie (one last training run before the Mont)!

christine's picture

can't miss out on delayed fairy bread!!!

Hey!! Stuart - you up for this? good for our impending nightmare of 100 attempt...

Brian's picture

I'm ok for the 28th.

dangersean's picture

Ride now posted, see you there!

I could be interested but 28th is my bday, 21st best for me if I dont go to Nowra helping the solo's

Have done dirtworks and the rides up there a few times so have a good idea what to ride.
Great North Road out to Clares bridge and then back via Shepards gully or something like that 50-60Kays with some fun technical bits to play at.

could be a double birthday celebration - what better way to spend your birthday than riding?
priorities!!
