Toilets at the start of the Oaks

TTFH posted someplace else (and thought it was worth quoting him):

You may not have noticed, but there aren't any. However, when the station is open, there are toilets on the platform, and mountains trains all have toilets.

"What a strange way to start an email" you may be thinking...

Well, I've had an email from someone identifying themselves as working for NPWS at Glenbrook, and she tells me she was called by a local (don't think it was Mrs Elvis), complaining about riders using the start of the track as a public urinal. Apart from health issues and potential pong (haven't seen a flushing tree yet), public urination is an offence, and police will be patrolling the area regularly. Now, their main purpose is to bust illegal moto riders, but if you're caught having a quick slash, you'll be busted and fined, and we don't want that.

So... use the public toilets on the train or station, or at least wait until you're well away from the houses before having a wizz. Be nice if you stepped off the trail as well. Otherwise, wait till the Oaks picnic area, where there's also a toilet.

It is legal for a male to urinate in public, as long it is on the rear wheel of his motor vehicle and his right hand is on the vehicle. NPWS clasify our bicycles as a vehicle dont they isnt this why we are not alowed on single tracks?

So grap the saddle of your trusty steed with your right hand and pee on the back wheel and you should be ok or not. Smiling
