Tyres

Hi.
I am planning to put on some new tires before the Scott 24hr as my old Rocket Ron's are worn out (only at back). I am riding a scott scale 60 and would anyone be able to recommend some brands of tires that work well for speed and grip and dont tend to cause flats. Does it matter if the 2 tires are different and have different tread patterns on them as well.
Thanks

Hi Peeps,

Want to get some new high quality bib knicks for the C2C and have been looking at the Assos range (FI Mille S5 Long leg ), obviously great quality but they suggest a medium for my height (175cm) but with a 38inch waist, 26inch thighs and being a 100 kilos im worried these will be too small, dilemma is all my current ones are really too big now and dont want to make an expensive mistake lol.

New rims for anthem XO 2009

Hi.

Not sure if this is the place to ask but will give it a try.

I have a Anthem XO 2009 XC mountain bike (http://www2.giant-bicycles.com/en-au/bikes/mount...) and was wanting to buy a second set of rims to use for riding to work, so that I don't have to change tyres, etc.

Currently using Maxxis Xmark UST 26x2.1 tubeless for XC and a set of Continental city tyres 26x1.5 with (with tubes) for commuting (http://www.wiggle.co.uk/continental-comfortconta...).

Need an opinion

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi all. Needing an experienced opinion about Mongoose bikes. I can get my hands on a 09 model Canaan Elite with full XTR running gear, Hayes hydraulic discs, fox shocks front and rear, originally $3500 retail, can pick one up for $1800. I have been hunting around for a new bike to upgrade to (riding a GT avalanche 2.0 currently), and this seems almost too good to pass up. I know Mongoose and GT are one and the same now, with the "freedrive" system it uses, being technically the GT idrive. Just wondering if this is a good buy?

29er time....

After doing a couple of events recently I thought I'd better get a 29er and make an attempt to step up to the 100's next year, so here is my weapon of choice. Hopefully pics below.

Had set on a lefty but then got an offer that was too good to refuse, full carbon and SRAM X9.

Now I have to sell my stumpjumper, hard part is pricing it to sell.

I don't have any questions, just wanted to brag. God I love it when the stuff you bought arrives in the post.

Plus it all turned up at the same time.

V4 Adventure light set from Ayup,which was ordered on Sunday night (thanks for the recommendation Yarg!)

Salomon XT Wings 2 shoes, Stans no tube kit and some other little bits and pieces from Wiggle.

It's like Xmas right now. Smiling

Tyres, different sizes

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Just curious to know if it's a good choice or if there any benefit to ride with tyres of different sizes (at the same time)?
On the bike I recently bought (dual suspensions), they mounted a 26x 2.35 at the front and a 26x 2.1 at the back (Maxxis High Roller).

Cheers

Just a summary of different combinations I could read true all of these nice advices:
FRONT — BACK
Maxxis Ignitor + Maxxis Larsen TT
Kenda Nevegal + Kenda Slant Six
Schwalbe Nobby Nic + Schwalbe Racing Ralph
Maxxix Ignitor + Maxxix Crossmark
Maxxis Crossmarks ++
Maxxis Larsen TT ++
