Another pricey ride
Well it's only been a few weeks since our mudfest drivetrain destroying nightride and one again this one will end up being expensive.
Turns out the disc was rubbing the caliper because the whole axle was bent when Tien used it as a seat.
Any ideas how much a Crossmax axle will cost!?
Tassie Trail
Hi,
I'm looking for some advice on best kit to buy for a trip I'm planning to the Tassie Trail. What is best type of bag for carrying kit, a back pack or under seat bag, I'm going light and have looked at the Carraidice SQR Trax, but all the MTB riders appear to use backpacks. Is this because of weight distribution? Any advice on this for a long ride?
Also what is the best head light to use for night rides?
Lastly has anyone done a ride like this (480KM's) and what sort of preperation did they do to get cycle fit for 6-7 days full riding?
Cheers

Fork lockout?
Hi guys, I'm looking to do some sort of intra-day enduro event by the middle of next year as a goal for mtb skills and rehab from some old injuries.
On the equipment front, is a lockout on the front fork required and/or useful for these events? I have a Jekyll 800 with a plain-vanilla coil-sprung Lefty Max 130mm fork with rebound only, no lockout or pedal platform. Is it worth getting a lockout fitted to the front? It already has a Fox RL pro-pedal rear shock. Thanks for your help. Cheers, Hawkeye

This has to do with roadbikes..but still interesting. Self adjusting front derailures so they dont rub..press button gear shifting..
FSR n+1 [Specialized HotRock]
Welcoming another Spesh FSR in the family...
I was looking for a suitable bike upgrade for my 10 year old son - to move from his heavy steel bike so he can join his older brother Benji (12) and me on the trails...
So I couldn't resist as his 10th birthday came up...

Jenson USA group order - closing TODAY
Hey everyone,
Get in quick - I am placing a JensonUSA order by the end of TODAY (1st August). Total order so far (5 Nobmobbers) reached $700. The total order must be kept under ~$900 to avoid GST etc.
Shipping charges are based on the size, weight, and value of the items you select. Typically around 15-20 % of the total - we'll share this proportionally. (unless you order something really big / heavy and it increases the postage dramatically)
brakes
Alex, Saint brakes are already good and the new model will be excellent. Hope isn't for everyone and probably suit bike tech geeks better. They are reliable but do require careful set up and attention. I'd steer clear of Hayes even though the higher end models are good. Remember that your HFX Mags are an entry level and OEM product, not top shelf and the design is rather old.
Soul-Kozak - Ultralight MTB bits - Interested in sharing an order?
These bits are the business when it comes to lightweight.

I'm after a set of bar ends, and have negotiated a 10% discount for an order.
Anyone else interested in something to share the freight?
It's not a huge amount (about $20), but significant for a single item.
I'd really like to get a pair of skewers too, but can't justify the cost at the moment.
