Allround tyres
I used to ride to work with semi slick tyres (Maxxis Overdrives) on my hardtail and these were pretty good in term of weight, rolling resistance, puncture resistance and they held up well on wet and slippery pavement corners.
The problem I have is that I want to ride offroad also eg on the weekends and not have to change tyres all the time and I don't have the money to buy another lightweight wheelset with matching XT disc rotors and cassette so I can have one set with slicks and one with knobblies.

Best way to hang a bike up?
I'm a newbie. What's the best way to store my bike in the garage? Horizontal or vertical. I'm thinking of hanging it vertically from either the front or rear wheel using the rim to take the weight using a single bracket. However, I'm concerned oil may leak from the shocks on the front and also the brake calipers. Is this an okay method for storing?
Good bike shop?
Just moved to Sydney, i am looking for a good bike shop in the Lindfield area (not one that tries to sell you a new bike each time you walk in) any suggestions?

CRC Differing Prices
I have noticed something very strange with the CRC website prices. They seem to differ depending on what PC you are browsing the site from. For example, the prices are higher when I order something at home than when I am at work.
Also Lozza is checking on his PC at work (mascot) right now and they are higher than what I see here at my work PC (circular quay).
What gives!?
The difference is quite significant too. When he opens the wishlist I sent through to him it comes in at 293 GBP when I see it as 250 GBP!
Anyone experienced the same thing?
wtf? thats some fugly linkage system back on the radar!
wow uglier than a cannondale but apparently quite functional!

DIY - Fork Repairs
I think I'm bored by all this rain because I just rescued an old pair of forks a mate was chucking and I'm going try and fix them.
They are 2003 Rockshox SID Team (dual air, climb-it control, etc) with a massive 63mm-80mm of travel - I think to change travel from 63mm to 80mm you need to fiddle with the inner workings and therefore a shop service - so these are 63mm.
The first thing I want to do is renew the upper legs. The upper legs measure 130mm but as only 63mm is used, the top 67mm is in poor condition (its like the metallic coating on the legs are peeling).
Rock Shox Revelation vs Fox Talas
OK, lets open this worm can..
The revelation has been recommended to me by quite a few people and I prefer the plushness of a coil(?) over air. I know they need a little bit more setting up, but I don't mind that. The might be a bit heavier but not much, and are 10m shorter on max. travel. They might be all I need though and I prefer the price. I would be thinking of putting them on a 2008 Yeti 575.
Has anyone got a set here that can comment?
Cheers,
Dylan
