New Chain Fitted

I have just fitted a new chain. Is it best to leave the oil on the chain they come with or clean it and apply additional lube?
Cheers

I've been riding MTB now for over a year and currently use very sharp flats with FiveTen's on all trails. I like to hop and bounce of little lips etc while riding along, I like 'air'. I ride a fair bit of technical single track. My current foot->crank interface involves:

Found this little gem of info while researching a new, more ergonomic saddle to replace my stock Specialized "Rival 130" seat...what is your experience with the below / recommendation for seats? Thx.

Have you used a "remote adjustable" seatpost? (Crank Bros Joplin / Gravity Dropper etc)

Has anyone used a Crank Bros Joplin Adjustable Seatpost - can you share your experience?

I'm thinking of getting one of these for my Spesh Enduro Pro. I like the idea of a remote adjustable seatpost ...as it's a bit of a pain to stop and adjust my extended seatpost every time for a descent.

Alcohol Wipes for Disc Brakes

Hi there,

Have just started out with a GT avalanche 2.0 recently and been loving some of the trails around Sydney! Have had problems with my back brake recently which saw the caliper replaced. My local bike shop recommended wiping down the discs here and there with Alcohol wipes.

I have two questions:

1: Does anyone do this and is it worth it?
2: Are the wipes I found on ebay below suitable?

Total cost would be $28 including postage, seems OK to me?

Excessive early chain wear

So I took receipt of a Park Tools CC-2 chain checker today and threw it straight onto the Enduro and also the Viper to see how both were going.

The Enduro has a Rohloff chain on it, there atleast 12 months. No idea about kms but considerably more than the viper and probably riden alot more harshly.

The Viper, a hardtail, was only built at xmass and would have seen less than 20, 20 - 30km rides in that time, 500km tops would be a realistic guess but probably alot less. I opted for a Wipperman 920 on this

I need a new bike - SCOTT SPARK 20.?

Hi All,

I am starting the long hard process of looking for a new bike. Basically I ride three or four times a week. No real heavy DH stuff but plenty of fast trails and quite a few medium rocks / techy stuff. To give you a better idea, this year I am doing the BMC Working week series as well as Dirt works etc.

I was hoping I could get some feedback on the SCOTT SPARK 20..

Thanks for the input (in advance)

Cheers
