New Pogo Stick

How pretty is this[1]?

You remember they 'split' the 135mm Jekyll into the 110mm Rush and 140mm Prophet? Now it appears they have 'split' the Prophet into the 130mm Rize (above) and 160mm Moto.

Nice scenary on ths preview too:

Chain breaker?

Offers of advice, tips, experiences, leads, or guidance about small, portable chain tools appreciated? I need something for the trail that is light, small and strong. The last one I used snapped mid-race during the Wannaride 8 1/4hr.
All suggestions welcome.

Triple cree kit

Thinking of ordering the triple cree light kit from cutter and wondering if anyone can offer advice on the best optics, ie narrow or medium, which is the better driver, what is the optimum battery size and whether it works best as a helmet or bar mount.
Any advice would be apreciated

Hi All

A mate of mine has just rushed out and bought a Specialized Enduro Expert, beautiful bike with a price tag to match.

Anyway we went for a first ride on Sunday and did a Oxford Falls Red Hill epic. Biggest drop we did would have been 4 foot to slight tranny, the usual RH rock gardens, etc.

Anyway 3/4 of the way through the ride his rear shock starts making a horrible knocking sound and has lost 1 cm of travel (along the shaft). Not an air leak type loss but nothing at all for the first 1cm without weight on it.

More Ikea Bike Rack Ideas

This is cool, it looks good and is much cheaper than the Minora alternative (Stolmen posts are 55 bucks here in Aus):

http://ikeahacker.blogspot.com/2008/02/stolmen-b...

We actually use the Broder system which is slightly cheaper and have two of those (Broder) poles in the garage. This one (Stolmen) looks nicer if you want things inside though.

We may have even chosen Stolmen before, but it didn't have bike holders, the above article shows how easy they are to DIY though, very nice.

Bar Ends - Advice Required

Hey NobMob.
Some questions regarding bar ends for those with any experience.

Q1: Do they attached over the grips? Or more logically to the handlebar itself?
Q2: If they do attach to the handlebar, do you a) Cut the current set of grips to make room or b) Move everything else in towards the centre of the bar? Or c) Do you need special new grips?
Q3: Other than an increased chance of random stray tree branches pulling you off your bike, what are the other possible downsides of installing bar ends on your bike?

Cheers,
Lance.

PS Any brand suggestions?

Bike recommendation & Giant Trance X

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

G'day,

I'm quite keen to get a proper bike and join you guys for some rides on the northern beaches which I've never done and of course do more of the Anderson/Oaks classics which I've done about 5 times on a cheap Trek bike Laughing out loud

So I'm looking for some recommendations here with a budget around $2500. I need disk brakes, dual suspension.

I come from France where my favorite brands come from so my choice is bit more limited here.

I am having trouble accessing the setup menu on the Taskled Bflex.
The three clicks toggles between the high and low light settings but I cant seem to get the right sequence to enter the menu.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Upgrade Stumpy to Enduro

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Hello all fountains of information.
A way in the future (depending), but I'm interested in any advice on the following:
I have a Stumpy 120 (Septune 120mm Fox shock) with a 140mm fork
After recently cactusing the shock link I had it replaced with a beautiful piece of engineering that allows the rear end 120-150mm of travel.
The bike shop said that they couldn't get 150mm of travel from the back as it would throw out the geometry of the bike.
