Last big dirtworks training
Wisemans Ferry - by the East ferry crossing (turn right bottom of the hill). There is a good parking area by the kiosk here.
Last big training ride before the dirtworks.
Simple plan: Ride up Devines Hill, then continue on GNR for 35ks then back same way but down Shepherds Gully and back on road. This should be about 80ks of excitment.
Note, this is training - No stops unless neccessary (mechanical and eating) and good pace which means around 18 - 20km/h on the flat sections and full blast on the down sections. Hence, a good training ride for anyone who aims at finishing dirtworks in 6hrs or less. I set the group limit to 4 as larger groups tends to be slow.
Manly Dam
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
Social ride around manly dam on monday would be good if someone who is a local rider could join in.
CORC Round 1 Stromlo Forest Park
Uriarra Road, just up from the Uriarra Road/Coppins Crossing Road turnoff.
If you have always wanted to race at Stromlo and never had the chance , now is the time ! Round one of the Corc racing season and it is lots of fun , race hard but finish with a smile on your face . I usually find a nice cafe afterwards to contemplate the drive home ,and laugh at my abysmal performance in the race ..... ok not really but its heaps of fun all the same Give it a go .... you know you want to !!
Times
Registration 8:30 AM (8:30 AM for Juniors)
Racing starts at 9:30 AM (9 AM for Juniors)
Entry Fees - from 1 Jan 2009
CORC members: $ 10
Ourimbah fun ride on Saturday !
North End of Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. There's a large-ish parking area here, just off the main sealed road. There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.
Ourimbah ride on Saturday morning - 2 laps at normal pace.
I'll be there with my son Benji (12) and another MTB dad with his teenage son.
Pace will be normal (i.e. reasonably quick - they are no beginners)
Come and join us on those beautiful single tracks - the more the merrier.
Cheers, Hans

Happiness is a warm shock.
Terry Hills
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Centre (backwards), Waratah, Salvation, Towlers, Bairne, Elvina, Duck Hole (backwards), then Perimeter/Long tract to complete.
This is a cross-country training ride with moderate speed, with a bit of the black stuff.
Bring plenty of water/food.

Blondies Training Ride - at slow speed
End of Wyatt Ave, Belrose - this is on the East side of Garigal National Park.
Ok, i am going to go from Cascades to St Ives Oval to Duck and Centre and back again – anyone fancy doing this with me? I am thinking this will be my last 'long' ride before the Dirtworks - If Paul twist my arm I may consider adding in going down Ryland and around the perimeter as well but not sure about extending it that much..!!!
Roid boys need NOTreply as this will be a Blondie training ride at Blondie speed...I will stop somewhere for a snack too!
i am guessing this ride will end up being about 35ks? or 40? In fact, I have no idea, it will probably feel endless. lol!

The plan is simple:
Easter fun ride around the Dam
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
I thought it would be fun to ride 1 or 2 laps around the Dam on Easter Sunday and have some Hot Cross buns afterwards.
This is a social ride, so no hot laps. Everyone is welcome!
Hope to see you there

Immediate Release: April 1 2009.
It's official.
The Pig & Whistle Singlespeed Mountain Bike Championship in Rotorua, New Zealand will be the 2009 Rest of the World Singlespeed Champs.
