Manly Dam update for 06 Jun
From the Rangers
Hello Mountain Bikers,
Sorry for the late notice, but we are having some work done on the track commencing today, Monday 6th June. These works will continue for a few weeks and will involve the use of heavy materials and as such we will need to CLOSE the track to all bike traffic during this time for the safety of riders and contractors. We will advise once the track is re-opened. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Awaba Laps
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Just up Jenkins Road from corner with Mount Faulk Road.
I plan on dropping some gear at my mum & dads so can't pass up stopping in for some laps 
I'm also testing a new bike for the Husky so I might be a little bit slower.

All good, though the recent rain has made new ruts and regulars will hence need to revise their 'lines' when climbing.

Great Northern Road update for 05 Jun
Rode there this morning.
glad i did as it's probably in the best condition of any of the Sydney rides. Lots of the usual standing puddles but all in all the track was fairly dry.
Well worth a trip to Wisemans if the Sydney trails are still waterlogged.

Royal National Park update for 05 Jun
thought after a few days of sun that the trails would have dried up the trails a bit, this was not the case. Many of the fire trails have large deep puddles and some sections of the single track are slippery as. I would avoid RNP for the next few days at least, if not the week.

Menai (Lucas Heights) update for 05 Jun
Lots of water on most of the tracks. Wonderful opportunity to take years off the life of your drive train.
One week of no rain should bring it back to a rideable state (somewhere between amber and green).

Bitten by a dog, Manly Dam
Today I was riding the Manly Dam Mountain bike track, when i got to the spot where you start the single track before the 19th hole, just after the fire trail an older woman and her daughter, or grand daughter something like that, started walking down the single track ahead of me. They had three dogs with them a large-ish white one, a large-ish brown one (the brown one looked alot like the link at the bottom) and a small white and brown one, none of which were on any form of leash so they were all over the place...

Rode this for the first time today - most impressed. A bit wet in patches, but most easily avoidable. The river was too much for me - took the shoes'n'socks-off-and-walk-it approach.
Good to see a couple of cops on dirt bikes making sure no illegal dirt-bike riders on the singletrack!
