Bike Weights
I'm only a little guy, struggling to get over 60kgs even with regular weight training.
Thus I feel that light bikes or the weight of bikes is important to me.
It's annoying that manufacturers don't list the weight of their competition bikes. Of course, they claim things such as:

Boutique (non main stream) Mountain Bike Brands
Fellow Nobmobbers,
I would appreciate some feedback on the the bike buying process. This is about understanding how mountain bikers think and what they want.
What is your thought/research process when you decide to buy a new MTB:
1) Do you always go with a mainstream brand in Australia, prefer a boutique brand (smaller manufacturer)?
2) What resources/websites do you tend to look at for reviews?
3) To what extent do you factor in who the distributor is and their reputation for quality service?

100km Events
Hoping for some advice from past 100km event participants....
Unsure of which one to train for. Have just started building fitness now (am reasonably fit but not 100km fit) and looks like there's a few 100km races later on in the year. Have never entered a race but will do a few this year prior - Choc Foot etc etc.
I was originally looking to do the Angry Doctor. Based on past experience has anyone any recommendations....

Husky 100 entries open
Not sure if anyone has posted this but the entries for the Husky race in June are now open. Great singletrack and no major hills so about as much fun as you can have in a 100k race (just don't mention the puddles).

Sram XX chainring bolts?
Hi, just wondering if any of you shop Dudes have a set of Sram XX chain ring bolts (IN STOCK!)
i'd like to build my bike back up but am too impatient to wait for an order to arrive!
For everyone elses info, XX rings bolt directly into a thread on the crank spider and dont come in two peices(front and back) like normal chain ring bolts.

Cowan Track
Hi - does anyone know if Cowan track open to riding?
I did ride it on the weekend to get a full 50k out of 2 x P & L loops. But I was not sure with it being gated off.
Shame if it isn't it has the best view of Apple tree bay!!!
Ps:
Apologies to the Turramurra Cycling rider I nearly cleaned up on return from the Long Trail loop. Had I not had new pads and disc inserted we could of ended up in a nasty mess.

Fred Caterson Reserve is now authorised riding!
We've spoken a few times about Fred Caterson reserve and don't think have ever got to the bottom of whether the trails in there are authorised riding or not.
Well... thanks to the new Bicycle Information for NSW site (which I have to admit is mostly pretty disappointing - hard to navigate, seems like just a collection of links to maps, hardly any MTB information) just found the The Hills off-road cycleways.
