Lots of water around and getting muddy. Should be ok if no rain for a few days!
[Mod. sounds like it should be amber - done]

Manly Dam update for 09 Nov
From the official mailing list:
Dear Riders,
After further investigation it has been decided that the mountain bike trail at Manly Dam is now OFFICIALLY CLOSED due to the recent rain and extremely wet track conditions.
It will remain closed until further notice. Please try to stay off the track until it is officially re-opened and all signs have been removed.
There will be a note posted on the website regarding closure.Anyone wishing to be added to the mailing list can email us at: [email protected]
We believe there may be mountain biking opportunities around Red Hill and Oxford Falls area, but unfortunately at this point in time we have not got the capacity to be more specific.
Thanks for your co-operation in this matter.
Kind Regards,
Manly Dam Rangers

Cascades
Has anyone ridden Cascades today? Sometimes it fares well after rain, sometimes not. Just mindful of chewing up the tracks?

2008 sram x7 trigger shifter maintenance
hey guys was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of instructions to open up and inspect inside my 2008 sram x7 trigger shifter? the product manual on the sram service website just says "the trigger shifters are virtually maintenance free and if you want to look inside consult your local dealer". any help would be much appreciated. churs,

That's a lot of rain!
One of the... erm... 'interesting' things about graphing BOM rainfall is that you can quickly scan through the afternoon's images and find crazy stuff going on like the storm today.
See attached image from just after 8pm this evening. That's a lot of (heavy) rain!

Weekday rides?
Hi Team
As of next week I will officially be a man of leisure for a few months. One of the reasons for doing it was to spend more time riding and to build up my skills and fitness.
Are there many Northern Beaches weekday riders lurking around here? I'll be looking to expand my repertoire of rides in the area with a few day trips further afield (So far I've really just focussed on the Dam). As you know these things are often better with company so I'd be interested in organising some formal weekday rides. Expect to see some posted up from next week onwards.
cheers
danny

The world at your door....
This site has been set up by a member of the Hawkes Bay MTB Club (NZ) and could be real interesting for mtb tourism if it takes off.

BTW rode some of their Eskdale tracks (near Napier, NZ) late last month and they have a fantastic network. Well worth including in any NZ mtb escapades.
