Single Speed Dualy
About a month ago there was some talk about if you could run a dualy as a single speed, http://nobmob.com/node/17098
Here is an example of a Kona with the required main pivot being concentric with the bottom bracket.

North Turramurra update for 13 Oct
Ran the length of the fire trail from Grosvenor St to Gwydir Ave, which, for the most part, is in good condition despite today's late rainfall.
Trail from Clissold Rd through to Stonecrop Rd/Gwydir Ave is still 'officially' closed (until late October) due to Sydney Water pipe works over Lovers Jump Creek, however this part of the trail is still accessible to riders and runners.
There is plenty of wildlife out and about, so exercise caution. Encountered a diamond python on the track (coming from Golden Jubilee to Clissold Rd), as well as wallabies (near the trail bridge, Nth Turramurra) and rabbits (near the trail exit, Gwydir Ave).
Do you have more information?
If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.

Highland Fling Tips - Half Fling
I'm doing the Half Fling this year which will be my third race having previously done the 50km Dirtworks and the Back Yamma 50km a few weeks ago.
Any advice on how to tackle the fling, particularly around :
1) Bike - I will have by then a 26" and 29" inch dually.........is the course suited to a 29er ??
2) Time - I did the Dirtworks 50Km in 2:45 and the Back Yamma 50km in 2:15.........what can I expect in terms of ballpark for the Half Fling............over 3 hours ?
3) Course - from what I can see there are plenty of short sharp climbs ??
Anything else to watch out for ??
